1 ct diamond ring

Do you mean 1 ct. as in carat weight or 1k as in $1000? I don't have a diamond so I can't really weigh in, but figured I won't be the only confused person.

Keep in mind how "big" it look also depends on your ring size! Just for fun, here's a tool FH and I used to see what potential rocks would look like. This helps when specs are given.

ETA: also, if it's cut very shallow, it can appear bigger by covering more area, but actually be a smaller stone, the same is if it's cut too deep, it's carat weight will be big but it'll look small for it's size......sorry I don't mean to throw off this thread!!

Halos make all the difference

They really do! While halos are absolutely gorgeous on other girls and make the diamond look much bigger, I realized they are not for me. I specifically wanted a solitaire however, I was starting to notice that my friends diamonds looked so much bigger than mine and it wasn't because the center stone was bigger it was because they had a halo! Thanks for sharing everyone... @greta b is your ring a full carat in the middle! It is gorgeous

Gah it's hard to get a good picture with my phone. I don't care for haloes either. Center stone is just under 1ct sides are .25 each. Excuse the dry hands, it's like winter or something here.

@Fitgurl - Thanks! The center stone is just over a ct. (Like 1.2 I think). I don't know the total weight, but it has to be much more. The band is a sting of diamonds lined with diamonds and the halo has diamonds on the top and the side (FH isn't a fan of subtlety lol)
