Awesome post! I had a really hard time picking out my favorite wedding photos… I personally enjoy the candid ones and there were so many! From dancing to eating… from running into the ocean to spending time with our dog… she captured it all!

Every time I see this one, I remember the joy of that day. I could not finish my Gibson martini-- they were huge!

My wedding is in the spring so I have time to get my list together. I know the photog wants a shot list for photos of family and bridal party, but do you give directions for these types of photos? I though it was up to photographer to figure out which background and poses are best. I don't really feel comfortable saying, make you get a shot of us "holding hands walking in the woods"? Or am I supposed to figure that out??

View Quoted Comment My photographers and I set up an inspiration board on Pinterest ahead of the adventure shoot (Yosemite). They had never been before, so they scouted the day prior to the shoot, with a little input from a mentor of theirs who shoots Yosemite all the time. I just told them I wanted “epic” shots and to use their creativity as they wished and they definitely delivered.

View Quoted Comment I would just do the family groups lists. I’m a huge proponent of letting the creatives do their thing without parameters, so leaving the portrait shots up to them is the best. The only shot that was “dictated” (other than family shots) was the one with my husband kissing my while I held my bouquet on our ceremony day. My sister’s photographer had them do that pose at her wedding and my mom wanted the same shot of us so she could have them side by side. It turned out better than I was expecting (probably because my photographers are amazing) but I didn’t want to do more than that because I paid them to be creative.
