1 venue, 2 separate weddings (july 2022)

April, on March 9, 2021 at 3:38 PM Posted in Planning 0 10
Hi everyone,
My FH and I are on the fence about our venue. July 2022 is booking up quickly and the venue we chose books two weddings in one day, 2 hours apart. We are nervous about this. We’ve never been to a wedding where there are two wedding ceremonies.

Each space has its own bathrooms, so this shouldn’t be an issue.
Has anyone been to a venue with two weddings on site and had a *good* experience? The venue coordinator says our guests won’t be able to tell there are two weddings.

Yes I've been to 2 weddings that had 2 events the same night and we never saw any guests from the other party. Also the parking lot was bi g enough for everyone. Our venue hosts 2 events in 1 night but it's literally 2 separate sides so we'll never see them.

    Biaani,
Your comment is a gift! Oh my goodness...there are too many horror stories online 😩 About how many guests would you predict attended? Our guest list is about 120.

Lol really? I feel like it's normal in NYC. 1 wedding had 175 guests. Ours is also for 120 guests but for now we had to cut it down to 85. You should be fine.

My sister had her wedding reception at a venue that had 4 ballrooms on site, and all 4 had different weddings booked the night of her wedding! Truthfully, we didn't hear or see anyone from the other weddings while we were in the ballroom my sister had booked, and wouldn't have even known that they were there otherwise! If the venue is setup for multiple weddings, and they have good reviews and enough parking, I would think that it'll be fine. They're probably used to hosting multiple events on the same day. The only thing I would do if you do book the venue is ensure that you have a visible sign to point your guests to the correct space.

My cousins wedding was at a venue like this and there will be a wedding ending about an hour before mine will begin. I have no worries abs I don’t think you should either. The venue is designed to make it work and I’m sure they’ve done this countless times. Book your dream venue and happy planning !!!

Absolutely. This definitely eases my nerves. We’re getting married along the California coast...I only know one person who has attended a wedding with 2 separate ceremonies on 1 venue. Their experience was horrible and I wished I hadn’t ask lol. I’ll spare the details

Totally been to venues where there are multiple events on site.

DH was a groomsman in one of them, and the groom was his swordmaster. All the BP on the groom's side had swords. Apparently, another BP saw them, geeked out, ran to his car, and dug up enough light sabers for his event.

...Same event, I'm wearing my dirk, because guests who had swords were encouraged to wear them (I have never found a better accessory for my dress than that, I swear), and because DH was often with the BP... let's just say I found it a REALLY great way to deter creepy dudes! Just put my hand on the hilt...

So, uh, you may get funny stories in the occasional crossover, is what I'm saying.
