It’s crazy to think that only 1 week ago, we were getting married in Hawaii
Some of you might know our story. But here’s a quick summary: DH proposed on 1/11/19 while we were on vacation in Hawaii…. Destination wedding in Las Vegas planned for 10/10/20….. Pandemic … we postponed the Las Vegas wedding to 10/30/21…. Then moved the wedding locally to San Diego, still on 10/30/21…. But at the 2-month point, we canceled the wedding and decided to elope with just the 2 of us on 10/31/21 in Hawaii (because that’s where our honeymoon was already booked). So that’s exactly how we spent our Halloween. After the ceremony we had a delicious dinner with amazing views and then hung out in Waikiki wearing my wedding dress and watching all the costumes walk by. It was an absolutey fabulous day and honeymoon!
DH and I made it home late Friday night and have been reminiscing daily about different memories from our time in Hawaii. It was certainly a long and winding road to the alter. I jokingly remind DH that we were already an “older” couple and now we’re 3 years older than when he proposed 😆(I’m 46 now and he’s 54). But it’s all God’s timing and everything happens for a reason. This was the absolute best wedding plan for us, and the sweetest part is that we came full circle from a Hawaiian proposal to a Hawaiian elopement.
