1 Year Honeymoon

AEW, on July 26, 2019 at 12:21 PM Posted in Honeymoon 1 32

Hi hi,

Has anyone heard of or may be planning to take their honeymoon on their first anniversary? I heard someone mention that it was a good way to relax after the stress of planning and the overall expenses of the wedding, as well as being able to save so you can actually go where you really want to for your honeymoon. Any thoughts?

Sounds like a lovely idea to me! We won't have the money or the time off work right after our wedding (this September, eek!), and this sounds like an extra special way to celebrate our first year of marriage.

    I love this. Smiley smile

This is what we will be doing. We just don’t have the money right now. Wedding, buying a house, and a honeymoon is a lot all at once.

That's kind of what we're doing. Thought it's not planned yet lol. We got married in October of 2018. Just didn't find it realistic to take off work and spend the money on a honeymoon after the wedding. So we decided to postpone it until we could afford a better trip than just a weekend away at some place we've been to a million times. So this October (or November) we will probably go somewhere - no idea where though.

I understand completely Autumn. We just relocated from CA to NY and our wedding is in Nov so we haven't really had a chance to discuss honeymoon plans. Add in the fact that I'm actually in AK working for the summer so it's been a lot of moving parts.

I think that's great. HTB (husband to be) mentioned hopping over to one of the other islands for like the weekend but I'm with you - I would rather us rest and save and then be able to go somewhere that neither of us has ever been to and enjoy our first year.

I love this idea! We’ll just be doing s short local trip after our wedding. My dream trip would have to be a 1yr (maybe even s 5 yr) anniversary trip because of time off and saving money!

We definitely contemplated a delayed honeymoon. Planning two major events at the same time is tough! But my mom is a travel agent and she found a way for us to afford our dream honeymoon to Ireland right after the wedding.

We are getting married this September. Either of us will have the PTO or vacation time this year to take more time off. We have decided to have our honeymoon sometime in 2020. I like the idea of having it on our anniversary date.

We’re planning on doing this. It allows us to take a month honeymoon instead of just a couple weeks since we can plan it now for next year. We’re going to Panama then somewhere else.

We're considering it because fiance will have a new job and PTO when we get married so we can't take one right after

That’s kind of what we are doing! It’s 6 months after the wedding (January) due to finances and whatnot 😊 We’ve been together for so long it’s fine and gives us something else to look forward to!

We are doing 2 nights at a bed and breakfast right after our wedding. We want those 2 days just to relax. Then next year, we are going to take a longer honeymoon somewhere. We havent decided where though.
