$10,000 Wedding Cake!!!!

Yep analy, my cake served 40 and was almost $600 (design fee included)- so for a huge celebrity wedding, not so bad when you break it down

I guess I'm thinking $10,000 cake, hell my whole wedding is going to cost $12,000, lmao!!

They are probably also charging them for the stress it is going to cause to bake a cake for such high profile people/guests!! Talk about S-T-R-E-S-S!!!

All I have to say is... I want to see a picture of THAT cake! LoL! 500 guests or not, it's going to be huge and will have to look amazing!

MDLS - those porta-potties with the sink, mirrors and tvs are fabulous. Those are the ones they tend to have at some of the parties in Trinidad during carnival and they are divine. You feel as if you are in a regular bathroom with a person waiting to clean it as soon as you come out. NICE!!! Those are worth any price they cost in my opinion. As someone who hates sweets I just can't wrap my mind around paying that much for a cake - ugggh

My Brother in law's cake was $5,000! Fondont frosting and tasted like expesive crap!

If any of you are in Houston and went to the bridal extravaganza then you would know that here at Who Made The Cakes they got with a jeweler and they displayed a $1.4 million dollar cake and it was about 8 tiers and encrusted with all kinds of real diamonds and jewels. They actually had people bidding on it and someone brought it. Talk about prices for a cake....

They're probably having it made by a cake artist.. sylvia weinstock, ron ben israel .. their cakes start at around $18/person and additional for detail (gum paste flowers, carving, etc) and difficulty.

There are some really nice cakes out there that are like $25 per slice so that would mean $12,500 plus the cost to cut it and serve it. It is very possible to get that high but it is ridiculous.

I guess you are paying for the name/expertise of the baker or at least that is probably part of it.
