10k Dress? What's it look like?

We see it all the time on TV. Has anyone (other than me) spent 10k+ on a wedding dress? Has anyone (other than me) spent 10k+ on a wedding dress? It never would have happened if my Stepdad hadn't surprised me, (he insisted that it would be for my dream dress only, no other allocation allowed, and insisted on facetiming when I went shopping in nyc) so I'm incredibly lucky but, has anyone spent even close to that amount??

I've been surprised on WW so far at how so many women on here have gotten beautiful dresses at such amazing prices!

Do you (or someone you know) have a dress that's close to or exceeds that amount? If so, can you post a pic? Is it just the complexity/quality of the fabric? Is it brand recognition?

I'll reveal my numbers and pics if anyone else does. I'm kind of embarrassed/feeling guilty.

Well I do feel guilty about it, but he insisted and it's a beautiful gift. And I'm wearing it more than one day, so that's good too

I would have loved to spend that much on my dress but that is my wedding budget as well. But the dress i purchased brought happy tears to my eyes. I also got it for $600 not including alterations.

Mine was technically free. I was obsessed with a dress from Lulu’s. It kept going lower and lower on clearance until it was $30!! I ordered some work clothes and they had $30 off if you spent $150, so I ordered the dress before we were even engaged and figured I could always donate it if it wasn’t used, because it was ‘free’. It actually fits like a glove and no alterations are needed.

Your dress is very beautiful and unique! My dress was a sample, originally around $1,800 and we got it for $600. Alterations (straps added, length, etc.) put the dress around $1,000. My second dress was $800. My veil was around $150, and the flower crown for the second outfit was around $150 as well. So I guess, all in all, the total of my dresses were $2,100.

You are very blessed to have received such a gift! That is amazing!

Not the dress I ended up with but this was a close 2nd. It was a Carolina Herrera that ended up being $5000 on sale.

OMG WERE YOU AT THE COLLECTION BRIDAL IN WINTER PARK FLORIDA???

I went dress shopping there, and got a dress there the first time I was engaged (and living in orlando). Shaina was my bridal goddess and she was the greatest. Which dress did you end up going with?

I was!! That dress started me on a whole other path of what I thought I wanted. I had a ball gown Vera Wang picked out and I ended up with a trumpet lace off shoulder gown.

I tried on a dress that was $8,000. Loved it but obviously couldn't justify the price. Pics below! It was a little tight.

My absolute favorite dress designer Atelier Aimee has price points like that! They’re works of art.
The biggest thing I wanted for my dress was I wanted an all silk fabric so it could be dyed easily after the wedding. My dress retails $4000 so still pretty low in range for luxury gowns and it doesn’t have gems or anything but it’s a ballgown in all silk tulle and and lace with such beautiful movement! My FH paid $1100 for the damaged sample and my seamstress fixed it up. I would’ve have been able to afford it brand new so I’m very happy I got my dress.

Don’t let anyone make you feel bad about it. Everyone’s day is different in their own special way! I think if any of us were given the cash to wear a $10,000 wedding gown I think we all would... at least I would! Most people will give you a hard time spending that much money on a dress because they couldn’t and it makes them feel better to say “oh I would never”. Yes they would, they just couldn’t. Let yourself be happy!!
