11 Days!!! ... Tips for Vendors?

Jenn, on December 28, 2020 at 5:23 PM Posted in Planning 0 6
I am 11 days out from our micro-wedding 🤗

We went from 200+ guests down to 12. We’re having an intimate ceremony with our parents, siblings, grandmas and my best friend. We are running a Zoom for our friends and extended family to watch. Then we booked a private restaurant for a chefs experience dinner after the ceremony. It’s not what I had originally planned but honestly, I feel relieved now. We are both so excited for next week! We even planned a surprise first dance after the ceremony and a joint father daughter and mother son dance ❤️.
Im prepping my tips for our vendors. How much do I give?
1 videographer1 photographer 1 photographer assistant (running the Zoom) Florist team (they are transporting my arch flowers to the restaurant but I paid a hefty delivery and set up fee) 2 Musicians (violin & guitar)
Hair and makeup and the limo already has gratuity included in our payment.
Do I tip my officiant? He was VERY expensive compared to others I’ve seen $500 we are paying him already.
Any suggestions would be amazing!!

Hi hi. Congrats and hope your day goes well. Here is what I suggest and did:

Im prepping my tips for our vendors. How much do I give?
1 videographer (did not have but maybe $100 - $200 1 photographer 1 photographer assistant (I had two photographers and I have $100 tip plus personalized water bottles since I gathered from their IG stories they were working on weight loss---usually the rule is if they own their company you to not have to tip but 15% is ok)(running the Zoom) Florist team (they are transporting my arch flowers to the restaurant but I paid a hefty delivery and set up fee) I think for tipping the driver $5-$10 because you paid a delivery fee. 2 Musicians (violin & guitar) Hmmmm not mandatory but maybe %10-%15
Hair and makeup (20%) and the limo already has gratuity included in our payment.
Do I tip my officiant? He was VERY expensive compared to others I’ve seen $500 we are paying him already. Unless he went above and beyond (mine almost acted as a wedding planner and even before I hired her she suggested places to get married and was willing to look with me plus other countless advice so I tipped $50 plus personalized gift but for $500 I would not tip.

I know!!! We kinda jumped the gun on booking him and wish we hadn’t now that we’re having a small wedding. He had 600 reviews and 5 stars and he’s very popular in our area all of our vendors seem to know him. But, we learned that this is WAYYYYY too much to pay lol

Only tip if they went above and beyond the call of duty. Do not distribute tips until after your honeymoon when you have a clear head of how the day went with the quality of services provided.

General tipping tables suggest 10-15% for stellar service only. Do not tip anything if they just did their job or gave bad service.
