11 yr old Included In Wedding

Al, on July 1, 2021 at 11:52 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 11
Anyone have suggestions on how to include my fiancé’s 11yr old sister in our wedding that isn’t a JR bridesmaid or Flower girl? Trying to think of other roles/ways to include her. Not sure if being a ring bearer would be appropriate?

If your planning on having programs she can pass those out. I don't see any reason she cannot be a ring bearer.

She could totally be a ring bearer!
Maybe she could do a small reading or even a prayer?
If she’s social she could be an usher/greeter. Anything’s appropriate!

She definitely could be a ring bearer. I think it would be cute. But I agree with PP maybe she could read a poem.

I think she should be a junior groomswoman. It would be so special for her to stand on her brothers side while he is married. Either a dress coordinating with the groomsmen or a pantsuit/jumpsuit would be so cute for this age.

I would have her do one of the readings.

Does she want a job? Not everyone wants to work and would prefer to be guest. That age is appropriate for a greeter or usher.

I'm having my half-siblings (both will be 13 at the time) walk down the aisle with their mom (my step-mom) who will then be seated in the front row - I don't think having a "title" or "job" is necessary to honor someone important - just have her walk!

Edit: my half brother will have a boutonniere and both my half sister and stepmom will have corsages - not bouquets - to differentiate from the wedding party

I'm having the same thought about my 11 year old niece - she keeps asking me if I've "found a job for her" but I haven't Smiley sad I'm not having bridesmaids so I can't have her as a jr bridesmaids... and I don't like the idea of her being the flower girl (and we have someone younger for that already). We're not getting married through the church so there won't be any scriptures or readings.

Let me know if you get any good ideas! and vise versa!

I think it would be really special if you asked her to ream a poem or if you're religious you can have her read a bit of scripture at the ceremony? She can also help by being an usher or even hand out programs/bubbles/petals/etc. I think it's super sweet that you are including her. Congrats and good luck on your special day.
