11am Wedding Ceremony

Lisa, on April 23, 2019 at 1:30 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 24
Hi everyone.
My fiancé and I booked our wedding venue with the ceremony start time of 11AM and the reception to follow. Does an early wedding start time make it feel like less of wedding? Any experience or other brides with an early start time? Thank you all in advance!

Mines isn't early, but the only real issue I think would be if it's outside it might be cold. Ad kind of depends on if you really want to party, night time would be better for like pumped up partying lol but I feel like there's no such thing as having less of a wedding because it's that early. If anything it would be more because you have more time left in the day

The time definitely doesn’t make it less of a wedding. No way!

Initially, I REALLY wanted to have an early wedding with a jazz brunch/day-party vibe for the reception. I had all of the details figured out. I loved the fact that it would be less common and something different than most guests usually experience for a wedding. Second, I loved the idea that guests could leave at the end of wedding and still have a good portion of their day remaining.

But then, we decided to have a destination wedding in Vegas and it’s not going to be in the morning. Lol. So after 2 days of thinking of ideas, I came up new plans that I love that will still make it feel different than a “typical wedding”.

I'm doing my ceremony at 11:30am. To me it doesnt feel like less of a wedding. Simply because that's more me. We dont wanna wait all day to see each other. Why wait? Do it early and see each other sooner and have your time all day!

Thanks Courtney! Yes my thoughts exactly, why wait. Neither myself or my FH are patient people so this makes sense for us, too!

I like the idea of not a “typical wedding” too! And we have many out of town guests, I think they’ll like having some of their day left to do what they want! We live in Vegas & are having our wedding here 😁 Thank you for the comments. I appreciate it!

The time definitely does not impact that "wedding" feel! I was going to say that people may drink less since it's earlier in the day but on a Saturday in Vegas that may not matter lol Smiley xd

I thought the same thing because my wedding starts at 1 and we are having a dinner around 3, but oh well! Hahaha, it is still a wedding no matter the time

We had an early wedding that began at 11:30 with brunch and beverages. we did all our photos before 11:30 with family and extended family. 1:30pm was our ceremony, followed by dancing and dessert. the restaurant venue closed up at 6:30pm.
if i did it all again i wouldn’t have changed a thing. i will say that since we had our photos beforehand we woke up very early to get hair and makeup done— and i only had one maid of honor/bridesmaid.
another tip: we had our welcome/rehearsal lunch at noon the day before and helped everybody get on a schedule.
our guests loved the morning timeline since as a guest you’re waiting around all day.
cheers! happy to provide any more tips or info if you have any more specific qs!

I don't think so! We've been to day weddings, weekday weddings, Sunday weddings & they all felt like weddings! They seem to be a little less of a wild party, just by nature they are earlier in the day, but they are still fun!

Friends of mine had an 11am wedding and they played off of that with brunch foods and bottom less mimosas. It was so much fun because there was no worrying about getting home late, etc.

We've actually talked about having an earlier wedding, because we are also responsible for the hall cleanup after. I don't think that's a bad time at all. If we do that, we may go with a brunch menu
