Anyone else working with a budget of $15,000 or less? What are the most important things to you? What are you willing to spend the most on? How many guests are you inviting? Is there anything you're sacrificing?

With all the talk on here of 30-50k budgets I’m so relieved to have found this post. We are doing our best to keep ours under 10k for about 80 guests. Most expensive part right now is the catering.

Whats important: Food, photographer, venue (for the right one).

What were sacrificing: cake, dj, videographer.

    $10k budget here.

Most important was my venue ($1800) and catering ($1600).

We are having about 100 guests.

I got a killer deal on my photographer at only $700 for 10 hours and she's incredible.

I'm sacrificing videographer to stay under budget.

My budget is 5,000 and I'm inviting 100 people. The most important thing to me is DJ and Photography. But I'm having a not fancy wedding and having family help alot. Plus I got lucky because my venue was only $450 and food is gonna be 800 because were not getting it catered (buffet style).

The venue costs are killing the budget. The food costs are ridiculous!

We are trying for $15k with 250 guest. We were very lucky to get a deal on our venue for $500. However, that is just the space! So I have to fine a decorator for table cloths linens, and maybe chair covers? Our issue is finding a catering company. We want BBQ and finding one that provide dishes, bus tables, apps and dinner for under 5k. I havent done much planning but im thinking Costco for our cake and cheese cake. Our super Kroger has a florist for weddings and im only doing babys breath and pink roses so itll be cheaper than anywhere else. but photographer in my area is 4k!! Just nuts trying to save and look around.

15k for 250 guest. Trying to be a bride on a budget. My hall we got a deal with because i booked a tour at a bridal show and booked within that month. Hall is going to cost me only $900. The most right now is cater 3-5k but were doing BBQ. and Photographer 2-5k. I have only booked my venue because im still gathering quotes. Im very artistic so alot of stuff I am going to make without it looking cheap or tacky. We are looking into Costco Cake and flowers. Dj is a family friend so that helped. Hoping everything works out. Its a bit much to stay organize and figure out what but just work on two things at a time and itll get done. I also have 18 months out so I have time.

$15,000 in New York here! We have a hard cap of 60 guests, and we're hoping to get it to 50 or lower. I bought my dress through a sample sale, so I managed to pay only $360 for it. My fiance will be renting his tux. We have no videographer, and we're doing a short photography package because we don't need a whole lot of photos. The biggest expenses will probably be food, followed by the venue itself. I'm going to see if I can't make the cake myself!

The best and most effective way to save money is cull the guest list. It also helps to be in a smaller city -- $15,000 in and around Washington, D.C., for example, is extremely difficult.
