Several of my friends are having babies/just had babies so it got me thinking. I was thinking about my future children's names and I realized FH and I have a lot of family members whose legacies we will want to honor/names we want to keep going in our family. Is it weird to give our children 2 middle names so that we can honor multiple relatives?

Obviously it will be a while before we start having children, but the thought popped through my head.

Anybody on here have 2 middle names or give their children 2 middle names? Pros and cons in your experience?

My best friend just had her third and final child, and they were so excited after their two boys to have a girl! They knew it was their last, so they wanted to honor all of the most important women in their lives, both their grandmothers and myself Smiley smile I was never so honored to have a little thing named after me and Abigail Jean Claire is a pretty adorable name!

I just legally changed my name to reflect my married name. I now have two middle names. So does my nephew. I don't think it's weird. Since lots of folks have two first names, nothing wrong with a middle name switch up. :-)

I have 2 middle names. My children also have 2 middle names that honor other family members. I love it! I think it's quite unique. Sucks filling out paper work as an adult but great non the less.

Both of my kids have 2 middle names for that very reason. My oldest son has my grandpa's name for his first middle name and my second son has FH's grandpa's name for his first middle name. Then we gave them a middle name we chose after their first one.

Not at all ! I have two middle names. The first one is the middle name my mother liked Kristen and the second was a tribute to my dad's mom who died the year before I was born. It is her last name.
