2 wedding dresses

Anybody else opting to wear 2 wedding dresses? Or if your wedding has passed, fill me in! Pics please! I would also like to know when you plan on changing out into the 2nd dress?? And which dress you plan on taking pics in? I wasn't originally going to be a 2 dress bride.. but it just happened this way! Lol

Ok so here's my story..

Were going to have a formal Catholic Church wedding for FH super conservative religious family. I have an A line gown for the ceremony and a sexy mermaid for the reception. The A line is beautiful and I am happy to wear it because it's dramatic gorgeous and appropriate for the church. But my style is more sexy so I bought another dress that reflects more of my style for the reception. Both dresses combined fell under my budget so I don't have to worry about that. And my MOH knows how to bustle and tie a corset so I won't be pressed for time. I have both dresses now I'm just wondering... when to change.. after the first dance? Before I arrive at the reception ? Before I take pics? Idk I'm at a loss. Help ladies!

Up to you, it depends really of you want to be in your big gown for the important dances or not. That's what I'm doing, so after my first dance and father daughter dance I'm changing into my 2nd! Hope this helps Smiley smile

I'm having not two but THREE wedding dresses! Two will be Vietnamese ao dais wedding dresses and a white American wedding dress. The yellow ao dai is being worn for our First Look, the pictures with the wedding party, and couple sunset pictures - all before the wedding begins. The white American dress is for the Ceremony and Cocktail Hour. The red ao dai is for the Reception. AND I'm changing into a short, leather, white dress before our Send-Off for the After-Party.

My dress has an overskirt. I will wear it for the ceremony and take it off for the reception. Two totally different looks!

I did wear 2 dresses. The first was a mermaid dress with a built in corset. I wore that dress up untill the father daughter dance. I then changed into a much more confortable mermaid dress with no lining or boning. My reason to change was pure confort. After 4/5 hours in the first dress, I could not handle the weight or tightness of the dress. I do not regret having a confortable dress to change into because it helped me enjoy the rest of my night instead of worrying about being uncomfortable.

I paid too much money for my dress to only wear it maybe an hour or two. I’m wearing it allllll night. I may even sleep in it 😂😂

Beautiful dresses ladies!! I understand the money issue. I actually got really lucky. If I spent a lot I would not be a 2 dress bride. But I only paid $99 for my A line first dress 😄 So I had plenty of mula for my mermaid 😄

I have two dresses. Dress one is too heavy to wear for the full 8 hours with the boning in the bust and all that tulle. Dress 2 is basic and way more comfortable.
Both fell within budget so we're good Smiley smile

I am glad I wont be the only bride having MULTIPLE changes.

I had an incident where a dress i bought from China was too puffy and if I risked making alterations the dress wouldn't look right.

I'll be having 2 white dresses, 1 chinese qi pao, and possibly another dress to dance in ( our first dance has a salsa component to it so I may need a dress thats more flowy or shorter)

So this is my schedule of dress changes:

    1. Tea ceremony (before grand entrance): chinese qi pao

    2. Bridal Party Photos ( outdoors and before grand entrance) and grand entrance: white dress 1

    3. Table pictures: Wedding dress 2 (the one I got from China)

    4. First dance dress: a dress I have no determined yet but it will LIKELY not be any of the above lol.

    5. Rest of reception: Back to my chinese qi pao

Im even debating if we are doing a garter toss or not. Since my chinese qi pao is form fitting and doesnt have a leg slit it just doesnt make sense to have the traditional garter part. But who knows maybe I'll have to change again if we decide to do this Smiley laugh

Totally understand how you feel. I bought a dress early on in my engagement and when I tried it on a month before my wedding it was instant regret lol. It was so puffy its hard to walk in let alone dance in. I literally got tired of carrying it from one side of a walk in closet to the other. With that said I will be only wearing it for table pictures.
