2 week honeymoon?

Elizabeth, on March 20, 2021 at 11:46 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 15
I know 2 week honeymoons aren't uncommon but I just wasn't planning one originally. My fiance and I thought we had one week and had planned to book an all-inclusive in the Florida keys. However, my boss told me last week that she wanted to give me 2 weeks off as a wedding gift (it's also during our low season, so she doesn't need me).

I'm curious what to do for a whole two weeks off!? I have never been on a vacation that long. Our budget for the honeymoon is 15k. Any ideas?

My honeymoon was like 2.5 weeks aha so it can feel long but so relaxing! Especially because you don’t have to feel rushed to do all the activities you’d possibly want

I know Covid is a factor, but if things are better, maybe a 3-4 day cruise in Caribbean before or after Florida stay. That was very generous of your employer!

Maybe a few different places? If Covid wasn't an issue, I would say a European trip. Maybe Hawaii? Since it's such a far trip, 2 weeks gives you enough time to relax by the beach but also do some fun exploring to make up for the crazy long flight.

Oh my goodness, 2-3 week vacations are amazing 🤩 I suggest Hawaii for two weeks... if covid wasn’t in the picture, I would say 100% Europe. But Hawaii is good for two weeks. Depends on what you both are wanting to do though.

I completely agree that with no covid, it would be great to go to Europe. Hawaii is a great idea! We originally nixed Hawaii because we didn't want the long flight to eat up too much of the week, but 2 weeks gives us plenty of time

I also like this idea a lot! I could definitely use the days beforehand to do last minute things, get my nails done, etc

2 weeks is perfect! We are doing 2 weeks and doing Hawaii with a few days in Napa to break up the trip home. You really can open up your options now and have time to really relax and enjoy.

Our honeymoon was almost three weeks and we went to Hawaii! It was amazing and we could have spent so much more time there! Highly recommended!

I would say, we spent about 20 hours traveling back (two layovers because we wanted first class the whole way) and arranged it so we landed at home on the afternoon of Friday on Memorial Day weekend. My company gives both the Friday and Monday of that weekend off, so I had 3.5 days to unpack and get back in the swings of things/normal life. I think that’s so important after a long trip and would recommend it!

I’m taking a total of 3 weeks off from work. We’re going to Jamaica for 8 days to an all inclusive Sandals resort. I got us a 1 bedroom honeymoon suite villa with a butler for $3550 & 2 round trip 1st class tickets for $2240. Have you thought of going to another place for a week?

We are also taking 2 weeks off but not going away for 2 weeks. We plan to take 2 days before and 2-3 days after. Prep time and recover time Smiley smile
