$20,000 to $8,000 vow renewal budget

Evelyn, on September 8, 2011 at 5:06 PM Posted in Planning 0 6

DH and I have saved up about $20,000 give or take well I deceided that I only want to spend about $8,000. Am I crazy? I am having 70 people including us. The venue that I am intrested in cost $2800. I have to use their food and beverages. Food can cost anywhere between $25-40 per person. And the drinks are wide ranging. Am I crazy to think I can pull of this wedding with $8,000. I really want to stick to my budget. This budget includes eveything that comes with a wedding except for new rings. I am not a flower kind of girl. Opinions please... Oh, I'm going for a vintage romance theme.

How long you have you been married? And what did you the first time around?

It will be a year in November and we went to the court house. I was military at the time and he was enlisting. So it was easier that way. It will be our 2 year anniversity when we do our renewal.

Honestly I think you should do whatever makes you happy. If you want to spend less than spend less as long as you are happy. Then take the rest and go on a exotic honeymoon. or perhaps buy a house (if you don't already have one). I have learned that sometimes less is more.

At the end of the day you and DH need to be happy with your decision.

We own the house we live in. I am really going to try to stick to my $8,000 budget. I have a shopping addiction (really I do) and I think this could kind of be like rehab, lol! He doesn't think I can do it. I have to prove him wrong!
