Who else is getting married in 2+ years? How much planning have you actually done so far? I’m getting married on December 31, 2020 and I feel so lost with planning (or even getting all of my ideas straight) since my wedding is so far away. Anyone else feeling this way?

I'm getting married October 2020 and I feel ya! I was kind of bummed at first thinking I had to wait to start planning, but honestly the earlier the better with everything! I have just been Pinteresting my life away, so I have most of the decor and details figured out. I have the venues in mind but need to visit before booking them. I am pretty sure about the photographer, but was going to wait a little longer to book her. I might just contact her and see what she wants to do, I mainly don't want to have to pay anything so soon. I've been learning a lot from these forums, everyone brings up some great ideas I hadn't thought of and also some good pointers to save money. Just start small, that's what I did and it got me all excited to do more and more as I felt comfortable. I will say, if you start planning now then it will make life so much easier down the road so you can focus on enjoying this time!

We have our date 2/22/2020 and we've chosen colors, wedding party, and a photographer. We wanted to look at venues when it was closer to our date so we would have some idea what it would look like. I've picked out ideas for centerpieces and bouquets since I'm going to do them. Oh and we've decided on a cruise for the honeymoon. I feel like we have alot done but also nothing at the same time.

I’m the weekend right after! We got our venue. I think you’re close enough to pick one already. And with plenty of time in advance you’ll be able to pay off vendors little by little.

I had a vendor ask me if I was "really looking two years in advance".

I felt lost with planning but at the same time I keep reviewing the suggested task lists and it makes me feel confident about planning for 2020. You have more time to make informed decisions about all the details. We don't even have a date yet, just a time frame March 2020-August 2020 because we want to get the best deal we can find. Getting information from venues has been helpful for me because it helps when finalizing a budget and figuring out what details you want taken care with a package and what you want to find on your own.

My wedding is going to be April 2020. We have gotten the ideas down and picked out what we want regarding colors, decorations, and what the bridal party will wear, we just haven't booked anything yet, and we haven't picked out the bridal party yet. All in all, we know what we want we just haven't acted on it yet.

My wedding is June 2020, I'm excited because of the special date we have picked and this way it gives us plenty of time to purchase things we need and my mom has connections so that she may be able to rent out a venue at a discounted rate!

I’m planning to get married in May 30, 2020 in Italy. The only thing I’ve done is hire a wedding planner and pick a venue. I felt these were the 2 most important things to do since I’ll be doing a destination wedding! Now I can relax a little and plan the rest next year!

Yep! But I'm actually making decent progress. I decided to book the venue basically immediately, figuring I could then take like a year off.... NOPE! On to a photographer and DJ. Then maybe I can relax a bit. MAYBE

Wow! You've already got quite a bit done! So far all I've done is come up with my bridals party and haven't even settled on a colour scheme as yet.

We will definitely be having our wedding in 2020, just looking and searching for ideas via Pinterest is stressful. There are so many options and so many things we would want, we were aiming for sometime in October or November 2020. We definitely have our theme in mind, but unsure about where to start. I wanted to start planning some stuff early to get it out the way, but I’m not too sure if I should..in case anything changes in the future.

That's great, sometimes figuring out the color scheme and decor can be one of the hardest parts! Have you been looking into venues at all?

Wow look at you go! You are checking those vendors off the list early on! Once you have those main vendors I feel like you'll be able to take a step back for a little while.

We are getting married September 5, 2020! We got engaged September 3, 2018. Sometimes I get overwhelmed thinking how much can change in 2 years (will our friends have kids!?). But mostly, I like being able to focus on life things and not only wedding things. Plus, it is more time to save money and hopefully pay cash for most things!

We booked the venue, DJ, photographer, make-up artist. I'd like to book the caterer and hair in the next 2 months or so. Then I just need to figure out color scheme and decor - which is going to be my struggle. My brain does not work like that!

I’m getting married June 6, 2020. I’m so lost on how to pace myself when it comes to planning! I have many things set but there’s still so much time.
