Who else is getting married in 2+ years? How much planning have you actually done so far? I’m getting married on December 31, 2020 and I feel so lost with planning (or even getting all of my ideas straight) since my wedding is so far away. Anyone else feeling this way?

I got engaged 3/15/2018 and plan to get married 3/14/2020. We decided on 2 years because we’re young and never been to a wedding. We figured 2 years will gives us plenty of time to figure out what we want. So far I’ve just been touring different venues. That will be the first thing we book and then just take our time planning the rest. I feel like the 2years will fly by!

Wedding Date set for 6/6/2020 and only thing done so far is the venue is booked. Right now I'm just getting lots of ideas, and don't plan to actually book anything else until this winter or next spring.

Yes, we are hopefully getting married September 12th, 2020. He's in the army so I'm pretty much planning myself lol. We have most of our bridal party picked, our dj and photographer. It's just finding a venue that we both like and love.

My wedding is FEBRUARY 29 2020 a very special day for me, i only have 1 year and half I feel its so far away but yet very close that I'm actually thinking about changing it for another 2 years but I won't hopefully, the best thing I have been doing is calculating the expenses, so I won't be stressing in 2020 and using tax money to fill the gaps I want to be able to get all expenses so I bracket my months and checks to see which month i can afford the dress etc. I bought a binder and print all my ideas with prices and sort them into categories, dress, venue, dj etc. I'm doing it all by myself, i wish had bridesmaids to help me but I got you guys! We plan for December 2019. Not quite two years, but it does seem like most of the planning expectations begin closer to around the nine month mark. I keep thinking, the more I can research and anticipate the type of tasks I'll need to undertake, the better prepared I'll be to troubleshoot as I move closer to action. Congratulations on your engagement! Everything will come together as it is intended.

Yes! we have the date set for May 30th, 2020 to tie the knot. I totally feel like its so far away but I want it all planned right now in a sense. however I know things change drastically in 2 years. So currently we are pricing venues and have the church in mind but nothing is booked. I have always know we would do fishing themed wedding and what colors I want so aside from looking and pricing venues I have been looking at some décor ideas and making a pintrest board. I also will be starting my guest list this weekend for a better idea of how big of a venue we will need.

Hey ladies! We're getting married February 1, 2020 in MA. So far we've booked our venue, asked our bridal party, determined our colors and general/overall theme, did our registry and started a guest list. We're going to be using Shutterfly for save the dates and invitations, so I started designing them on there and keep updating them as we go along. I actually really enjoy the planning aspect (I use WeddingWire, The Knot, and wedding inserts--that I love!--for my Happy Planner to stay organized) but tend to stress over budgeting and making sure not to forget everything because I know the 2 years will fly by.

I've also experience some of the "why are you planning so early" questions and weird looks--from my own family even!--but I'm excited and figure better safe than sorry and running out of time. Looking to get started on looking for a photographer soon, but that's one of the areas I'm completely overwhelmed with... between budget, style, horror stories, you name it I'm a little worried where to start Smiley xd Smiley atonished Smiley laugh

My fiancé and I are getting married on July 14, 2020. We have our guest list planned out roughly, our bridesmaids and groomsmen, and our wedding colors decided. We are also looking at venues and Pinterest is my best friend for ideas. I am going dress shopping next weekend.

I’m getting married on July 18, 2020. We have our wedding party, out colors and our venue decided. I understand it can be very overwhelming to make all these plans for something that’s so far away. But the good part is, you have 2 1/2 years, you have time. Try not to stress about getting everything done right away. Take the next few months just to write things down and get yourself organized. If anything, start with your colors, your wedding party and the general location of where you want to get married. Take your time with deciding what you want. And if you don’t know what you need to plan and decide on, that’s what this app is for. It tells you all the decisions you need to make. You don’t have to start contacting venues and vendors yet but once you feel ready you can reach out. It’s okay to reach out early because you’ll most likely get first dibs on the vendors you want. It also helps to assign plans to your wedding party if they want to help. For example, one of my bridesmaids is in charge of arranging hair and makeup. I guess my main point is take your time and use the WeddingWire checklist to help you figure out what you need to do. Don’t worry I’m not an advertiser for WeddingWire. I just love this app because it’s been so helpful. Congratulations and Happy planning!

Getting married 12/12/20 we booked our venue this past sundaySmiley smile

Our colors are red & black, with gold and rhinestone accent

Decor will consist of red roses, pearls, glitter, sparkle, black ostrich feathers and vases, movie poster signs will be the table numbers. Each table will be a different romantic/classic film.

Wedding favors will be free tickets for a Broadway show at Paramount theater, if wedding is at Paramount.

Theme: Old Hollywood vintage movie themed

Bridesmaid dresses will be long sparkly/sequin red dresses, red sparkly shoes, rhinestone/diamond silver jewelry with pearls and hair will be down with vintage waves/curls. Bold airbrushed dramatic lips, 1920s/vintage silver rhinestone hair comb accessory. Black shrugs/shawls to stay warm, black coats if needed.

Its mainly Old Hollywood theme but then throwing in a few things my fiances loves like star wars and die hard, the movie elements will be very subtle, trying to match the theme any way i can still and mix it in with the decor. Like the beauty and the beast rose will be easy to incorporate and i'll be wearing red ruby slippers/ flats and so will my bridesmaids. Ive thought about getting a replica of the gold idol from indiana jones raiders of the lost ark, having cannoli for the godfather, a box of chocolates for Forrest gump, i really wanted to use something for Snow White and the seven dwarves (my favorite disney film) but all i can think about is the mirror or red apples. Having the blue heart of the ocean replica necklace for titanic. An old vintage camera for Rear Window, and umbrella for Singing in the rain, and maltese falcon replica i would paint gold for the Maltese falcon

We are pretty sure which caterer we are going with, between 2 possible djs, narrowed it down to bakeries, artificial flowers for bouquets and boutineers, im between 2 or 3 possible hair and makeup companies

Been brainstorming music choices, i have a list of 13 bridesmaids everyone on her tells me i have to narrow it down, my FH has 8-10 groomsmen, I know what my centerpieces will be. And we aren't officially engaged yet with a ring i mean cuz he's proposing at wrigley field my fav place this summer with a setting he's picking out and using a stone from his grandparent's collection he inherited. So technically our engagement isnt public yet but we are secretly planning already.

We are booking the venue Sunday and we already have a dj in mind, just need to look for a photographer. I am not big on flowers sowe will be taking a different route for that.

August 22, 2020 here. We’re securing a venue in June, a photographer in August, dj in September. We’ve started a draft of our guest list, picked our colors, and I’ve got a dress already to get it out of the way. The remainder of the year were just going to focus on our enagement and do premarital counseling. In 2019 we’re going to figure the rest out. 😊

Oh and I’m selecting my wedding party this weekend! They’re all my close friends that I’ve known since middle school so I don’t think it’s too early. Plus we’ve been friends for 10+ years already, nothing is going to change in the next two.
