Just out of general curiosity, how many of you are still getting married on your date and how many of you are postponing to a later date? How come? I am getting married on October 2, 2020. I am getting married on October 2, 2020. I have personally chosen NOT to postpone because I can’t handle planning another year 😭🤦🏼‍♀️ And also we had a back up plan to go to the courthouse if the “big wedding” fell through and all of our family was still gonna travel to be there anyways so we decided to just have our big wedding.
Let me tell you. Covid 19 has already taken so many things from us. Ruined so many opportunities. So to be able to push thru this and decide that no matter what happens we will be getting married on our date... it’s such an amazing feeling of empowerment.. and who knows I may be selfish for not postponing so that more family can come.. but in the end it’s not about them it’s about me and my (soon to be) husband

We didn't postpone. We had about 40 guests and our day was perfect! Do what's best for you and your husband! On that day, you won't be thinking about covid or guests who can't come 🙂. Wishing you the best!

My FH and I decided to postpone our wedding from 10/11/2020 to 4/17/2021. This Covid messed up a lot of our plans I had a fire July 2019 and just now got back into my house because when Covid hit so did rebuilding on my house thinking back now I’m glad that I postponed my wedding because I would be freaking out right now because a lot of my Wedding planning was put on hold due to Covid Two of my bridesmaids still don’t have a dress so now at least it gives us six months for them to come up with their dresses

Hello!! Love reading all of these comments about people continuing with their weddings. We are going forward with ours. 9/19 and 65 people, originally 120. We are emailing all our guests with the precautions we and the venue are taking. Is anyone asking guests to take covid tests before they come?

I have not and will not cancel or change the date. It's October 10 and is a special day because my mom would have been 70. Our wedding is smaller and more attending virtual and I am perfectly fine with that.

10.10.20 and we’re still on! The idea of changing a date that I already had an emotional connection to wasn’t an option for us. We minimized our guest list to immediate family and friends (which did help with the budget). It is nothing close to what I had imagined my wedding day would be like, but if nothing else, planning a wedding in a pandemic has definitely shown me I picked the perfect partner for me! Good luck!

Love that! We had plans for a larger party 250 people but I’m honestly a little relieved that they can’t all come cuz that’s a ton of people. And I’m already so stressed.

Still getting married on our original date (9/5/20)! I agreed with you with not wanting to postpone a whole year. Ultimately I knew I wanted to marry my fiancé no matter what that has to look like. I would’ve struggled with holding off on that commitment for another year. We had to cut our guest list in half to follow state guidelines for social gatherings, but it’s going to be worth it when I wake up with my HUSBAND on September 6, 2020!

Hi I'm getting married October 11, 2020. Yikes! So blessed and so happy. I was surprised on my birthday this year June 25th and my honey proposed to me. BEST BIRTHDAY EVER! I said yes and I'm thinking next year but he says why wait and now we are planning. This is all God's timing and everything is falling in place. We are not rich but we are making it do what it do. I'm like but this in a middle of a Pandemic but this is also God's will so I'm going to stopped stressing if my bridemaids are happy for me or on board at this point. I'm sick or worrying and be happy. Congrats to you by the way!!

We were suppose to marry on September 13, 2020 but we choose to postpone until Next September! By doing so we actually got the date we wanted in the first place. September 12, 2021!! Even thou it has been very annoying moving things and having to deal with Covid we found it was best for our guest safety! We know the day is suppose to be about us but we really want our family there to share it with us! We have been engaged for 7 years already so whats one more year? lol But best of luck to you on your big day and Congratulations!!!

Between me and other Covid brides I know, we're mostly keeping our dates... One is getting married Sep 5 (this weekend), another had to move her wedding from Oct 3 to Oct 17 bc of her venue, and I'm keeping my wedding on Jan 16. We all go to the same church and are using the church's livestream equipment to include people who aren't going to be there in person, but hosting our weddings at different locations.

YOU GOT THIS! I think if it weren't for Covid, wedding planning wouldn't have been any less stressful, just in a different way. Look forward to the day itself and all the elements that would comprise of a wedding. Think about holding your flowers. Think about walking down the aisle and seeing your groom. Think about all the people who will be cheering for you when you have your first kiss as a couple. Those things hopefully aren't taken away by Covid. Those things are still special for a bride.
