I am getting married on October 2, 2020. I have personally chosen NOT to postpone because I can’t handle planning another year 😭🤦🏼‍♀️ And also we had a back up plan to go to the courthouse if the “big wedding” fell through and all of our family was still gonna travel to be there anyways so we decided to just have our big wedding.
Let me tell you. Covid 19 has already taken so many things from us. Ruined so many opportunities. So to be able to push thru this and decide that no matter what happens we will be getting married on our date... it’s such an amazing feeling of empowerment.. and who knows I may be selfish for not postponing so that more family can come.. but in the end it’s not about them it’s about me and my (soon to be) husband

We got married this past Sunday because our original date did change (we were supposed to get married in July). There were a lot less people but it ended up being a beautiful day and I can’t wait to see the pictures.

We were originally getting married October 23, 2020. We decided that we wanted to push it back, to give us more time and to save more. So we rescheduled for October 15, 2021. We’ve also made the decision to elope, so it will be easier on us for planning.

We postponed twice. First from June 2020 to December 2020, and then again to December 2021. We live in Florida and our entire families live in the Northeast, with multiple people having to fly in from several different countries. It wasn't feasible to do a smaller ceremony because people still have to travel.

We married on our original date but did a super small ceremony - just a first look, vows and exchange of rings, champagne and cake cutting, and a first dance. Standing only, just our parents and a few close friends (12 people and 1 dog total, including ourselves and our photographer), all outdoors. It was about an hour long and our area was still mostly shut-down at that point, so that was pretty much all we could comfortably do.

We have technically postponed our larger event for next spring, but Covid will determine whether that happens or not. We spent about 20-25% of our overall wedding cost on non-refundable deposits, so would hate to lose that money and the wedding we wanted, but I am not going to have an expensive wedding where I can't hug and dance with people and can't see their faces, so if the situation is still bad we will either try to postpone again or outright cancel.

I pushed my wedding from December 6, 2020 to December 12, 2021. My family's health and safety is more important than any party. I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if someone I loved got sick or if someone I invited to my wedding made someone else very ill. My grandmother was altering my dress and creating my veil (she used to work at Klienfields) when she passed from COVID. It's difficult to postpone the wedding that she was so looking forward to, especially knowing I need to buy my own veil and dress. However, for the health and safety of my family, I'm happy to wait another year!

We postponed from June 2020 to December 12, 2020 and hoping we can have our big day somewhat intact! If things get shut down again, we will scratch the big wedding and elope to the Caribbean this winter with our family and a few close friends. We have been engaged since December 2018 so it's been long enough.
