2020 Wedding Changes

Kourtney, on May 2, 2020 at 12:12 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 8
Hello everyone! My Fiancé and I planned on getting married September 25, 2020 prior to the coronavirus pandemic. I’ve actually had the coronavirus and have had two week long hospitalizations because of it. Now that I’m recovering, I’ve been thinking about our wedding plans. I would still like to get married this year and we don’t really want to postpone it. If we cancelled the big wedding (we have huge families) and did a courthouse or private wedding would I wear my wedding gown still? We’re still just unsure on how to proceed. I have a feeling that there will still be a lot of uncertainty surrounding the virus in September.

I was okay with wearing my wedding gown, but a deal happened with DB where I got hooked up with an evening gown type for cheap. I had a courthouse wedding years ago and wore a white sundress with some wedges. Honestly it comes down to whatever you feel comfortable in! Nobody's going to judge Smiley smile

First off I wanna say I’m glad to hear you are recovering. And second, I think it’s fine to wear your gown multiple times!!! In fact I think that’s great because honestly the wedding dress is that item of clothing that we can’t really wear much other than for our own wedding so why not? Smiley smile

    I'm so glad you're ok!

Absolutely wear your wedding gown. Wear it twice, wear it a gazillion times! (I tried to wear mine for Halloween, but DH requested I save it for a "more special" occasion. So, I'll make up a holiday this month!)

You get to wear whatever you want, whatever makes you feel happy.

Hi! I am supposed to get married Aug 29 at a beach house we rented. 2 days ago we decided to cancel the weddimg (we were inviting 70 people) we came to our decision because I called the town about the tent permit (the house is on the beach) and the town said they are waiting for guidelines from the governor but right now we would be in violation. Then I got to thinking about the people coming to the wedding. Many guests are coming from out of state and are older. So we canceled the big wedding. Instead we are going to see if a beach club or hotel on the beach near my town will just do a ceremony for us and a private dinner with just our parents/siblings/grandparents. I reallu want to wear my dress and take photos! Hope this helps

Glad to hear you’re recovering! 🙏🏽If you can get another gown that sounds great. If not, then wear the original dress. Glad you’re keeping your original date and celebrating with close family
