I would look to Pinterest and get ideas, most vendors don't book more than 2 years out

You could start booking vendors in 2018.

Sit down with your fiancé and discuss the budget and the type of wedding you want. From there if you don't have a Pinterest board for your wedding make one and start pinning things you like as you have time. Start a savings plan now so you have plenty of time.

I started researching about 18 mths before. Didn't start active planning until a little over a year out when we booked the venue. Some start 2 years ahead. I wouldn't go beyond that though.

If you have your budget you need to determine how many people you are wanting to host. Make wedding boards on Pinterest and lurk the forums. You will find lots of advice on things to do and things not to do. Also change your avatar so we can get to know you and distinguish you from trolls.

I'd definitely start with budget & finance now. Start saving if need be & everything else can wait until 2018

    Please change your avatar!

I would just enjoy being engaged for now. Start a pinterest board to gather ideas. A lot can change in 4 years in terms of styles and trends! You could start looking at venues in 2018. From there, you can start booking your "big" vendors: caterer, photographer, DJ or band.

You will drive yourself insane if you start planning now. I would start looking at venues in August 2018.

You've almost got all the time in the world. Stay budgeting now and know you'll have your pick of venues.

You're a bit young to already be engaged. However, just budget now

I would budget and start saving now. You might be able to save more than the 10,000 you have planned, but you are really young and a lot could change in college.

Definitely stop reading wedding message boards for a few years. You'll drive yourself crazy.
