I wouldn't start seriously planning until 2018 or you'll drive yourself crazy waiting. In the mean time, review pinterest boards and just gather all your ideas and get a good grasp on your budget. It's hard because vendors won't be able to give you a quote yet, but just look online and try to get ideas.

Trends and styles change so much with the seasons so I would probably give it another year or two at least to start actually planning. Absolutely get inspiration now though and you'll be even more prepared when you need to start contacting vendors!

Congrats! I would say too early to start planning but doesn't hurt to look on Pinterest and start saving.

I agree with everyone... about 2018. But it's still fun to start a Pinterest board!

I am getting married in April of 2020 and we’ve been engaged for 8 months. Two months into our engagement we book our venue. It was the best decision we made because we were able to get the plates for the 2017 price and not the 2020 price. It saved us about $25 a plate. However, some vendors book as far as 1 1/2 years out so it depends.
