2020 Weddings

Wedding dates in 2020? Anybody think it’s any different than any other year, or is the year 2020 just appealing? Planning now for Month of September. Has one ran into complications of date already being booked this early in the year?

I'm not getting married in 2020, but a friend of mine is waiting until 2020 so that she can have a roaring 20's Great Gatsby themed wedding and I'm kind of obsessed.

No trouble so far. We had originally planned for Fall of 2019, but pushed it out to May 2020 because we needed more time due to finances, family issues, etc. The vendors I had already booked all had that date in 2020 available, and mentioned to me that they still had lots of dates open in 2020.

I think a lot depends on the area you are in. I'm in CA, but there are literally tons of venues, vendors, etc. to go around, so I think they won't start filling up their 2020 dates until later in the year.

I think you'll be okay! We started planning 18 months ahead, and only one venue out of the 30+ we contacted was already booked.

6.6.20 is our date! We have not run into any issues booking anything, the earlier the better so no one steals your date. The only problems we have run into are we are having donuts instead of a cake and we want to taste test (even though we have had their donuts 1,000s of times) they wont do that until 6 months before at the earliest. The other problem was with our caterer. We have had the booked just as long as out venue and we already have most of our menu planned. We were supposed to do our tasting this week but they decided to cancel and I polity told them that we had had the date scheduled for over 2 months now so why are you canceling and their response was that they never wrote it down and that they typically don't do tastings until 8 months out. I polity told them that from the beginning of this whole process we made it clear to everyone that all the big stuff had to be done by February of this year due to FH being gone for a couple months between March and November (we still don't have a date he will be gone yet ugh!) Other then that everything is going smoothly!

May 8, 2020 bride here and we have not had any issues. We started looking early enough and none of the venues were booked yet.

Tomorrow will officially be one year until our wedding!! 1/11/20. We had a few issues with the hotel and transportation not wanting to give us cost proposals until a year out- but now everything’s on track!

We are getting married on March 14, 2020. So far no issues at all with my venue or djs being available. I wanted an off season date for financial reasons and that date just stood out for me. When I mentioned it to my FH, he excitedly replied "That's PI day (3.14) ! That will be easy for me to remember." Yes, he's a total nerd but I love him for it. Lol

Getting married 2/1/2020 Are biggiest thing was trying to find a venue and caterer and it took us 6 months to decide! Who knew we would be so picky? We are starting to plan the rest after the 1 year mark that seems to be when most vendors will start working with us.

Hello Maren! Well originally we would have hoped for June 27 2020 which would mark our 5 years together. However I thought it will be a hot wedding here in California and also in the middle of Peak season. So we’re thinking September when it’s the beginning of Fall and not a peak season 🤗 which also will give us more time for planning and saving. Thanks very much and same goes for you! ❤️
