2021 Brides - Where are y'all from and what COVID restrictions are messing everything up?

Hcook, on December 10, 2020 at 3:55 PM Posted in Planning 0 32
Hello Brides and Congratulations. I am getting married 5/22/2021. We live in VA. Where are yall from and how is planning and what COVID restrictions are messing everything up? As of right now am stilling planning as if there will be normalcy by May 22, 2021. But as we come into the new year and getting closer I feel as if our dreams will not happen. Now I am not planning on changing my date and hopefully we will not have to change our honeymoon reservations. But only time will tell.

    Hi Heather!

We're February, living in Las Vegas. No one will ever know if or when covid will actually let anyone do anything again and we've paid for so much already. We've been battling through so much since we started planning 2 years ago that we're just going to push forward no matter what. Our venue will be sure to have multiple sanitizing stations and take everyone's temperature upon arrival. One thing we did postpone though is our honeymoon. We've moved it from February to September for our birthdays. We really hope that things are settled down by then.

    Hi,

We're are getting married in January 7,2021 Just 27 days away. We live in NJ and I've been worried that we will have to postpone with all the new restrictions that were put but I talk to our venue and as of now everything is still moving forward as planned. We did decide to change our honeymoon for either June or September.

I’m early July 2021. So far planning has been just fine, but I think we are going to go ahead and stick with our date and adjust as necessary as we get closer.

My husband and I got married in October but our big wedding is scheduled for March 2021 in Maryland. As of right now we are planning to continue as normal, we decided that we would make a decision at the end of January on whether to postpone or cancel if we can't go forward with it

Almost date twin. I'm getting married May 21, 2021 in NY. Right now we are still moving along as if everything is normal. We don't plan on postponing but if we have to cut the guest list down due to restrictions we sadly will do that. FH and I haven't planned a honeymoon as of yet and will probably do that later in the year when things are semi back to normal or as normal as possible. Right now, just keeping the faith that things will turn around.

Our Wedding is in April In Florida. Still planning as normal. Only thing I did was move my alterations appointment up for my dress. Was suppose to take it in February and I went last week instead. So my dress will be done first weekend in January. If things get canceled we are still going through with getting married and I'll have my dress.

4/3/21 AZ bride here! We’re getting married in the Phoenix area & our planning just as normal. Our guest list is around 90 so probably around 70-80 are expected. However, we do have a Plan B set up to be on the safe side.

Threw in the towel months ago and received deposits back. We opted for a three guest tiny wedding in a park for free.

I’m also getting married on 5/22/21! I’m trying to remain hopeful that things will be better by then, but realistically, I just don’t think it’s possible. It’s not going to go back to “normal” as quickly as things shut down. I feel like it sadly will be until 2022 or later until weddings as we knew them are allowed. Unless your venue doesn’t follow restrictions or your state isn’t strict. The biggest thing driving a postponement for me is whether or not dancing will be allowed. That’s so important to me! I wouldn’t even care if masks were required while dancing, but as of now, we can’t even have a dance floor. Ugh! So if anything, we’ll get married on our original date with close family and friends and postpone to big reception for when Covid is actually under control. Good luck to you!

    Hello date twin❤
We are getting married in Kentucky and FH and I are both living in NY, and after lots of discussion, we decided to just continue planning as usual and make the final decision 60 days out. We have come to terms with that not everyone will be able to make it, but if we postpone it another year, I might just end up losing interest completely and wanna do courthouse (which was what I wanted originally but FH wanted a wedding😂)
Our venue so far says that because they are a small venue (as in mom&pop business and not a wedding business barn), the owner doesn't have much restrictions except for masks and social distancing. But we will have multiple sanitizing stations and probably move our barn reception to outdoors.Like the previous poster said, I think if it comes to no dance floors, then thats what will be the deciding point for us to postpone/cancel. Good luck❤

Hey! May 1, 2021 Bride from Ohio! Were planning as if normal. We have an outdoor venue with lots of space so there are less restrictions! We may have to cut our guest list of 200 but will decide closer to time. We did decide not to honeymoon out of the states so were going to roadtrip instead! I wouldn't mind leaving the country but my FH is anxious about it right now understandably. Things aren't going exactly as planned but I think it makes the experience even more special!

I'm in Florida, getting married in October. I've already told guests that we're most likely going to have to limit the capacity somewhat, but we'll be doing a live stream of the ceremony and reception, so people who can't travel or won't be able to be there in person can still be part of it. My fiance and I both very recently recovered from Covid, so we can speak from personal experience about how it's much better to be cautious for the sake of people who don't have immune systems as strong as ours.

We are April 22 2021 and since Covid, we have decreased our guest count from 80 to 45, but otherwise planning as normal! Our venue is private and indoor/outdoor (with 150 capacity) so we have a lot of options if restrictions get more strict. We would never postpone because we just want to be married on our date with our closest family/friends —- it’s actually a lot less stressful personally for me, planning for 45

My wedding is planned for May 15, 2021 in Virginia. After postponing from May 2020, I am hoping for a miracle for things to be normal by then. But I just don't see it happening. I think things should be somewhat better though. I anticipate having a smaller wedding than we previously planned for.

Hi jasmine! We are also living in Las Vegas and getting married next year. It’s been a crazy ride since getting engaged 2019 but we’re really hoping with the vaccine coming out a lot will change, hopefully!

Oh that's pretty! We're getting married downtown at The Blind Center of Nevada. It was originally Mansion 54 but we had to change it because our guest list increased and we just couldn't afford it there anymore. We did decide to still do our first look, bridal and wedding party photos at Mansion 54 so still excited that we'll have it part of our day.
