2022 Brides what is your thought on Favors?

I have a lot of people telling me not to worry about favors. I also saw a couple of tiktoks with past brides saying their guest did not care about the favors! I am sooo torn, not knowing if I should spend the money on it or not. Let me know your thoughts? I need some advise.

Well my whole thing has been to support businesses of people I know. A friend of mine sells candles and made us custom candles. Best thing is to not get all guests favors. If we are having 120 guests I’d get perhaps 70 candles. Not everyone wants them. That way I still get to do favors, but not spend too much. Don’t forget to take out a few for yourself!

I'm a 2023 bride, but we're having our favors be the leftover bubbles from our sendoff!

We are choosing to do maple syrup favors as it fits with our venue and location. I like what others are saying about late night snacks, but personally as a guest, I agree that if you choose to forgo them, that’s fine. Things like coasters or personalized coozies are fun but how many people keep and use them? Could be a waste of your money.

I am not doing them. I feel like the gesture is nice but that they are often left behind for the price you will spend on them. I did think about doing edible favors, but decided it would be better to just skip altogether

If you'll be serving beer in bottles/cans, personalized drink koozies are great! Definitely a reusable favor.

FH and I are all about our pets and it’s well known among our guests. We had a sign made with a photo of our cat and dog that says “our humans got married” and another that says “Please take a treat for your four-legged friend at home”. I am going to make little baggies of dog treats and cat treats, since almost all of our guests have pets. I got some blank gift tags and had a rubber stamp made with our name and wedding date so I can personalize the bags. If people don’t take home the treats, it’s something we won’t mind the leftovers of! 🐾

They are definitely not necessary, however if you have some extra money, and a cool idea, then I think your guests would appreciate it. I love weddings where they give out junk food in the favors, so I can have some sweets after a night of drinking, but maybe that's just me lol.

I only like favors if they're usable or not stuff that I'm going to throw away or put in a drawer somewhere. I'd rather nothing than stuff I'm never going to touch. The best favors I've seen at wedding were a candy bar (with bags and take home supplies), a super nice photobooth with frames, sweatshirts with the wedding hashtag (I wear it around the house all the time), and an engraved frame to put a photo from the wedding in.

My mom is all for them but I think most people will leave theirs behind. We are sending people home with the mugs we are using for hot cocoa, tea, and coffee. They are a nice navy blue. We have extras so we can send people home with a clean mug filled with some snacks. We will also be washing mugs that were used, in case people want a pair of them. The mugs themselves were only $1.25 from the dollar store and we bought them for the reception anyways so it is not a big financial loss if people do not take them.

I thought the same thing… but opted for simple custom shot glasses on Etsy. Very cheap option and for some people it is important (not me, I never take them and think it’s a waste… but 🤷🏻‍♀️) I agree with putting that money towards something else though. In retrospect, the photo booth we got definitely qualifies as a momento IMO

Save the money!!! Guest almost always throw them away, leave them at the tables or don’t use them. Use that money towards more entertainment or something memorable at your reception. Guest will always remember THE EXPERIENCE!

Unless it is a small intimate wedding where you know your guests taste, it’s a waste.

I skipped them. I think it’s a waste of money. And more often or not people never take them.

I bought a fan for the guest to use at the outdoor and reception ceremony because it’s gonna be warm in Hawaii. So I just purchased a brown fan for them to use no engraving just plain. It’s only $1.50 each which I don’t mind I only have 50 guests.
