2Nd wedding couples...

Kerin, on April 28, 2020 at 9:51 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 8
Are you planning a rehearsal dinner? We're leaning toward not having one. We have both been married before and this is a very small wedding with just our closest relatives and our very best friends. We think, as long as we have the program organized and the DJ does his part, everything will be fine without needing everyone to come to our out of town destination earlier...

Thoughts? TYIA!

This was my second wedding, but H’s first. We had a wedding party and a fairly large wedding but everyone in our party had been in at least one wedding before ours so we felt confident in not having a rehearsal or rehearsal dinner. We didn’t see the need to drop another couple thousand dollars feeding everyone the night before.

Oh good, I was afraid I was the only person that thought about that LOL we don't have family helping contribute to our wedding oh, so I am trying to keep the costs in check. Thank you😊

Hi Kerin! You definitely don’t need to have a rehearsal if you want to skip the rehearsal and dinner entirely!!

With an intimate guest list planning a rehearsal dinner can feel like two full weddings - you can certainly stick with just the wedding day events!

Even for first weddings, when a few people have done one before, or been to a few, all that is really necessary is that B and G have discussed things with the officiant, and anyone handling music. You can fill anyone else in, in 5 my nutes. No need for any rehearsal, or RD.

A family bride to be was doing mental spins over her 5 months away rehearsal, whether or not people would be in town, yada, yada. And my generally shy just 5 year old daughter started patting her on the back and telling her, I have been a flower girl 2 times, with no rehearsal. And it is just like getting on the right bus the first day of pre-school. There is always only one way to go, and if you talk for just 1 minute before you leave your doorway, you and everyone else will figure what to do. We have 600 kids, at our school, 20 signs where buses stop, and lots of walkers, and everyone gets it right the first day of school, every year, with no practices. I think the 6 of you ladies can figure it out walking down. And the guys will fall in line watching what you do on the way back. ...............yeah, I have never figured out why it is a big deal. The last wedding I was in, the at the rehearsal the MOG was making everyone nutty with directions, and the BM leading the procession said, why don't you go sit down. I am a pilot. I think I can find my way to the Man in Black at the front of the room. ... Do what feels comfortable.
