2Nd Wedding

Lourisha, on May 16, 2021 at 10:00 AM Posted in Planning 0 10
Hello this is my second time getting married. The first one I didn’t get to do anything my ex only gave me an 11 day notice. I didn’t have to set a budget or guest list. I didn’t have to pics or cater. I didn’t get to do yes to the dress or tuxes. I am kinda stressing and losing my mind here. We are getting married June 4,2022. I am so lost.

There are some checklists and stuff you can google to get started. But if you can get it, I recommend the book A Practical Wedding. It breaks down the whole process and helps you get started.

You can do all of those things or none! It’s totally up to you what you want to have. I’d start with a budget, guest list and then go from there. Congrats!

Congratulations! The first two things you and your fiancé will want to do are discuss budget and create a guest list then you can start looking for venues. Venues/caterers generally charge per person hence why I recommend knowing how many people you will be inviting so that you don't go over budget. It is also a good idea to create a guest list in advance to make sure that your venue is large enough to accommodate the number of people you plan on inviting. Some venues also have guest list minimums or food/beverage limits. I would also recommend purchasing a wedding planning book. When we got engaged my mom got me The Knot wedding planning book. I found it very helpful. I also watched YouTube videos that were created by a wedding planner by the name of Jamie Wolfer. Since we got married she has released a wedding planning program you can purchase where she will walk you through the wedding planning process. If you don't want to purchase that program she has tons of free videos that are very helpful. Below I've linked The Knot wedding planning book my mom gave me and Jamie Wolfer's YouTube channel.

Girl! Your story sounds just like mine lol; my ex gave me a 7 day notice for my first marriage. Straight to the courthouse. I began with wedding wire checklist, that helped me a lot and I just adjusted from there
