Hi all!
My FH and I have FINALLY decide on our honeymoon! We are planning on going to St. Thomas and St. Johns in the US Virgin Islands! We are SO excited! NO passports needed and it looks absolutely HEAVENLY! We plan on staying in St. Thomas for 3 nights- this seems to be the busier more touristy island so we plan on doing touristy things while there. We don't like a lot of crowds and prefer more seclusion when on vacay and figure with it being a MAJOR cruise port, that we will get annoyed by the crowds relatively quickly. With that being said, 3 nights seems just enough! St. Thomas is known for its shopping (beaches of course) and great nightlfe so we figure we could do that for a few days to get that experience. However, knowing us that'll get old fast.
We plan to stay on St. Johns a majority of the time (7 nights) due to it being more our style in regards to 60% of it is a preserved national park/ more adventurous in terms of lots of hiking and gorgeous beaches/ less populated and ALOT less touristy. Also, St.John is just a quick ferry ride over from St. Thomas ( I read somewhere about 20 minutes) since there is no airport on St. Johns you must take a ferry ride over from St.Thomas.
Also, we are staying at Air BnBs on both islands. It is EXTREMELY affordable compared to staying at a resort.
Do you all think staying on St.Thomas for 3 days enough?
Thank you kindly!
Sam
