The plan is to have the ceremony at 3pm. Finishing around 3.30, 3.45 at the latest. (the instructions then state have your dates uber themselves to the reception) and they will take photos at a secret location and be at the reception around 6.30pm!!! So when I thought I was going to be alone for maybe a hour at photos and an hour for dinner turned into 3 hours for photos and a hour for dinner. Not to mention the 4 hours prior when my husband needs to get ready with the guys in their hotel suite. I felt terrible leaving our guests for an hour while we took photos but 3 wow. Ready for today to be over and the wedding hasn't even started yet.

None of the wedding parties +1's will be sitting with their partners. There are only 2 of us though and the other one is the brides brother so his wife knows a bunch of people cause it's a bunch of his family.

I agree with not going. I had a similar head table situation at a wedding where my FH was a groomsmen. I really wish I had not gone. It was lonely to be separated for hours and not know anyone at the wedding.

I would go shopping or back to the hotel.

I’d be drunk and irritated after 3 hours. I’m sorty I don’t have any advice, but I feel for you! So rude!

Wow this sounds awful! I’m so sorry. I’d skip the cocktail afternoon and just show up around 6:15 for dinner.

Wow!!! This is my first time ever hearing about this type of situation... and to tell you guys to Uber ... this whole situation would make anyone uncomfortable. 3 hour cocktail hour! 😒

Based on what you said it doesn’t sound like a 3 hour cocktail hour, just a 3 hour gap. I’d just find a way to entertain myself. A one hour dinner by yourself is tolerable. I’d just suck it up.

I went to a wedding with a large gap and I just took myself to lunch. I found a little cafe and putz around for a bit. My sandwich was better than the cocktail hour food anyway.

I dislike when brides and grooms disregard the guests and make a schedule only thinking about themselves--not their guests.
