Hiiiii!

We are a young couple in our early 20's trying to have the most amazing wedding day reception with our tight budget, which we are paying ourselves. We have $3500 , 3 months to plan and no clue how to do this. I have never even been to a wedding! I am having the hardest time finding a cheap venue to have the reception, I am willing to bring my own food and alcohol, I heard that is cheaper, I am going for buffet style and allll DIY. I am looking for Brooklyn or Queens place. Any help????Smiley ups

City Hall and a nice dinner. You are not having a “traditional” wedding in NYC for $3k.

You need to provide us with the number of people first and let us know if $3500 is your total wedding budget or just the budget for venue/catering.

Small guest list like immediate family or your close friends and family. You can look for an officiant that is affordable and do a simple cermeony. Or jop. Are you members of a church? That's another option and which most members get their weddings free and the take your guests to lunch. Or check into chapels that do simple ceremonies. It's not impossible to do a small budget but you have to be realistic. I planned my wedding officially in 3 months and it's our immediate family. So about 20 of us if they all come and 3 include children. We are going to a chapel and then I rented a club house and had the food catered and a few bottles of wine and champagne. Our total budget is $2000 and we are actually under it and this includes are little getaway after. $2500 if you include rings which we got an awesome deal on them. Best of luck. S/n we are also having a bbq in the summer to party with our friends nothing formal and this is what works for us .

I am also in Brooklyn and honestly the only way this is going to work is if you take 10ish people to a restaurant after a park or courthouse ceremony. All other costs will need to be kept to the bare minimum.
