3pm ceremony timeline

jill, on August 15, 2017 at 4:44 PM Posted in Planning 2 14

Hi everyone! I'm hoping someone has a timeline I can look at to get a good start on mine. We're having a 3pm ceremony and doing a first look. Shorter ceremony. We decided on a shorter cocktail hour as well with small fruit and veggie appetizers and drinks since we are doing the first look and will have taken a majority of photos. Thank you!

I am doing first look at 2pm, bridal party pics then 3pm ceremony. Expecting to start at 3:15 ish, lasting until about 3:45, expecting everyone out by 4. Family pictures from 4-5 and cocktail hour starts at 5:00. Cocktail hour & reception are at a different location from ceremony so majority of guests will be gone while we are doing family photos.

Talk to your photographer. They will be able to help with this. Each situation is completely different. My wedding will be at 3:30 and we will be starting pictures at 12:30 since pictures are not all in the same location.

Plan for extra time for pictures. Pictures take a lot longer than you would think

This is what I've worked out so far, I have to tweak it a little. Also BLC is my abbreviation for my venue. ETA I genuinely thought we started at three but am wrong. This may still be helpful

Hey! How did this work? So y’all took photos before your wedding started so does that mean you’re husband seen you in your dress before you walked the aisle and how far did y’all go location wise to take photos from there ceremony. Just wondering how this works! Thanks!

What are your guests doing from 4-5? Why are you waiting until 5 to start cocktail hour?

Hey! So we did a first look at 1:00. I took photos with my bridesmaids and he with his groomsmen until 1pm when we met under a willow type arch in the woods. He had his back to me and I walked up behind him. Yes, he saw me in my dress before the ceremony. I loved it and it really helped calm my nerves. We got married at a campground so our ceremony was in the meadow and we met near the river for the first look.

I know this is an old post from me but our ceremony ended about 3:30 and we did a cocktail "half" hour from 3:30 to 4pm. It was just drinks and seasonal fruit/veggies since we did a bbq buffet. Then dances, and dinner was at 5pm. Cake at 6pm
