$500-$600 cake? How much did yours cost? And for how many guests?

I haven't looked into cakes yet as I haven't chosen a venue yet but a lot of venues that include cakes on wedding-spot cost from 500-600 dollars but how big are they? How much did you pay and for how many guests? I'll have about 100 guests. Thanks! Also- if you did cupcakes what did the cost come...

Our cake is only $300 for 5 tiers ranging from 8" to 16". Where I live is generally cheaper, and I'm also getting married in a small town and going with a local baker. If I was getting my cake from the larger city, it could have easily been double that. Also, we're just doing basic flavors iced in white buttercream, and then getting flowers from our florist. More complicated designs and flavors can definitely raise the price.

Our cake is included in our venue but I would guess $500-$700 depending on design and add ons.

There are so many options when it come to cake. Bakeries are going to be most expensive. A person who has cakes as a business will be next. Some grocery stores that have bakeries can do them like Econo Foods. Wal-Mart, Target, Sam's Club or Costco can do them a lot more reasonable. There are limitations to the last 4 when it comes to flavors, design, etc. I find sheet cakes are the easiest and cheapest for serving guests. I have seen prices vary from $3-10/serving depending on where you live and what flavors, number of tiers, frosting choices.

I'm doing a small circular cutting cake and a bunch of cupcakes which will feed more than the 100 on our guest list (we wanted to have extra cupcakes in case people want more) and it cost us $350 with the stand rental included.

About $4-$9 per serving. Very basic to elaborate so if you estimate somewhere in the middle that should give you an idea.

My cake is 4 tiers and feeding about 150 guests. It was included in my venue cost but i paid $500 out of pocket for the design and added flavors i wanted. She said the cake would cost about $1500 out of pocket. It is AMAZING flavor and design though!

I'm getting Walmart cake-- my sister had one for her wedding and it tasted great. I'm having 250-300 people, so I couldn't afford spending a ton of money on pricy cake. I think our cost is going to be $170... for a 2 tier and 2 full sheet cakes.

Our cake is $700 and will feed 150. I really wanted a 5-tier cake, but that is more cake than we need so we are having a fake bottom tier and 4 real tiers. It was less expensive this way and there won't be a ton of wasted cake! We are also getting a groom's cake for $200 that will feed 50.
