5/1/2021 brides

Amanda, on December 15, 2020 at 10:57 AM Posted in Planning 0 10

Anyone else scheduled for late April/early May 2021? We have most of our planning done and are in Virginia. Our ceremony will be in a church and our reception is in a barn on an expansive farm. The barn will be completely open to the outdoors with ample room to space out tables and keep families/friends together. We are inviting a little over 100 people but expect less than 100 to attend. Current VA guidelines are 10 person max events until the end of January, but I know last fall weddings of up to 250 were allowed. If we have to postpone, I'm thinking of doing a Friday in August so I can keep my vendors. Saturdays will be all booked. I'm also thinking of doing cute hand sanitizer favors and other measures. Any ideas from other brides? I'm super anxious!

We did customized hand sanitizers for our minimony in October and we plan on doing them again for our big wedding in March 2021 - Our guests LOVED them! Will you be requiring your guests to wear masks for the reception?

We are planning on the same day! We already decided early on that we're going to move forward with our original date no matter what. However, our ceremony and reception will be held indoors with no outdoor options available. I know back in October in our state of CT the indoor limits for gatherings were moved up to 100 for a little while. So I'm feeling hopeful that by May, the limits will go back up to at least that and the distancing and mask restrictions will be loosened. It's just super frustrating and stressful right now because we don't know how many people we can have for sure. I hate not knowing and not being able to plan accordingly. I just try to remember that everything will work out in the end and I'll be married to the love of my life!

The customized hand sanitizers sound fun! I think as far as masks I will just go with whatever the state health guidelines entail. So while indoors at the church, there is a good chance that guests will need masks. At the reception, they may not need them, or they may need them on the dance floor if they aren't social distancing. I am a health provider so I likely will be vaccinated by May, as will a subset of our guests, but not everyone will be vaccinated by then.

Hopefully this vaccination actually works how they predict it will. I am so ready for COVID to be under control. Goodluck with everything

Yes you're date is super close to mine. We won't be postponing regardless of the mandates since we are having such few guests.

Our date is May 15th 2021. We’re having a “backyard” wedding (family member’s house has a beautiful huge field!). Because of this we probably will not be postponing whatever ends up happening. We may cut our guest list a little, right now we have 60 people invited but we’re only expecting 50 or so.

April ‘21 AZ bride here. Our planning is almost done. Have a lot on the radar for next month - cake tastings, flowers, my alterations & mailing out invitations. Our guest list is around 90 but expect around 75. My fiancé is a firefighter & I work at a hospital so we will be 1st in line to get the vaccine. We know some will not get it & will provide masks & hand sanitizers. Our venue used to have a 250 max capacity but changed it to 160 to keep in compliance. Our numbers will be around 50-60% of their max capacity so we feel comfortable with that. They will have a max of 10 guests per table & the tables will be spread 6 feet apart.

5/1/21 here. We only got engaged in June and have the church and venue lined up in Philly but haven't put down money yet. I ordered my dress and that's about it. We haven't booked any vendors. Waiting to see how the restrictions loosen because we don't see the point in putting all the down payments then finding out we can't have more than 10 people, etc. If things loosen up, we will scramble and book whatever few vendors are left and plan the whole wedding in 2 crazy months. If not, we will just get married in the church and save the rest of the money.
