6 month engagement anniversary?

Melissa, on June 13, 2016 at 4:47 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 20

Next week we will have been engaged 6 months, but have yet to set a date... due to layoffs at work we've put wedding planning on hold. Would it be weird to celebrate this milestone?

It's up to you and your relationship. Do you typically celebrate things like that?

DH and I acknowledge the day we got engaged, but we don't celebrate it. It's a personal preference

It's a personal preference. If money is tight due to layoffs, you could do something simple and sweet like a picnic in the park and write cards to each other!

We'll have been engaged 6 months next week (the 20th) too! But we're getting married on Saturday :p

You can celebrate anything you want! Never too much gratitude... Smiley smile

ETA: Well, I guess we won't actually be engaged anymore after Saturday evening...but we'll have been engaged 181 days...

I would celebrate the milestone. It doesn't have to be huge or elaborate. Maybe cook a meal together or like PP said picnic in the park.

You can. I wouldn't celebrate it. I would probably just acknowledge it. When we made 1 year engaged I just made a post about it being one of the best days and how happy I was that I said yes, that's it. If you want to celebrate your engagement with others, that's called an engagement party so there are tons of threads on that.

I mean, it would seem odd to me and I'm someone who celebrates more anniversaries than most but I also wouldn't judge someone who chose to. To each their own. Honestly, I couldn't tell you for the life of me what day DH proposed. I know it was sometime in November...I think...or maybe late October. Genuinely not sure.

You can celebrate anything you want Smiley smile You can write him a card and make a nice dinner or do a picnic like PPs said. I wouldn't do a fancy dinner out or anything crazy. But it's always good to share and spread some love Smiley smile

You do you! I would never judge a friend for this, as long as they didn't expect me to care about it.

We celebrated the one year anniversary (and the one year mark to the wedding) with a romantic dinner. The other milestones were just me texting him "omg we've been engaged for this long!!" and "we're getting married in XX days!!!!". If you want to celebrate it, that's up to you!

I never thought of this... Wish we celebrated our engagement at the one year mark! I would make FH favorite dish and just spend time together!

We have been engaged for over a year now and havnt officially set a date yet. We celebrated our one year engagement anniversary on February 28th this year. We will be setting a date soon but with so many changes in life I have found it hard to commit to a certain date.

That sounds fun. Maybe a movie night in with delivery and wine. Our if the weather is nice, a trip to a park would be great
