We have officially decided to not have our big reception this year and we are very happy with just moving on and enjoying married life. Our ceremony last year was perfect with just our family and wedding party outside our church and a small dinner outside at a local restaurant. I know we are giving up a lot by not having our reception but we feel as though it was what was best for us and our kids.
We spent around $5,000 for everything vs. $20,000 that we had originally budgeted for and we are going to use our DJ for a birthday party this summer for my daughter, son and I since our birthdays are all within a 10 day stretch of each other and he was already paid for and is non-refundable.
