60 DAYS AWAY & NO WHERE NEAR GOAL WEIGHT

I_Found_Mr_Wright, on June 25, 2012 at 5:30 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 26

I've officially started panicking! I need to drop AT LEAST 20lbs by Aug 24, it would be great if I could do closer to 30! I really feel like I don't have enough time and it's impossible :'(

It's doable but (sorry I had to creep on your profile before i could say this and prove it) from a guys perspective you are beautiful the way you are. I don't know why you would want to.

HI- This is not a healthy way to feel... it might even keep you from dropping that weight. I would say just workout and make it fun, idk where you are from but its so nice out there there are lots of options to switch up a work out. Take advantage of all the fresh produce avaliable this season too!!!

I have to say I didn't make my goal but I did drop some and I felt great on my wedding day because my hubby loves me the way I am!

I agree it is doable and I know you can do it! I'm in the same boat but I have three months. Not sure what it is that works for you, but I know you can do it! Stay positive. And I agree your man fell in love with you!

    Thanks for the support everyone!

Tyler, I appreciate your sweet comments! I recently(within the past 3 yrs) gained a lot of weight so I'm not too comfortable with myself and I REALLY want to feel good about myself the day of the wedding and not look back on pics and wish I'd lost the weight.

Kari, I'm not like obsessed with losing weight or anything, I'm just feeling overwhelmed with the wedding getting so close and not feeling like I look the way I'd like to. I definitely know my FH loves me no matter what, but I also want to lose the weight to make myself feel better Smiley smile

STBMrs.H--thanks for the support! we can do it! (i hope) lol

I agree that you look beautiful and shouldn't stress over dropping so much weight, but I am trying to lose weight myself, so I can try to offer the good and bad from my experience. 1st, I beg you to not try anything drastic to get down to whatever weight you want to get at. Although it's okay to replace a meal or two with a shake or juice, don't go into those detox diets or starve yourself. Those extreme diets wreak havoc on your body and you'll just gain it back. I did Nutrisystem and lost about 3 pounds a week on average without much exercise, I know Jenny Craig is just as good (actually the food tastes a little better) but it's more expensive. The best suggestion is the one everyone is going to give, drink lots of water, stay between 1,000-1,500 calories per day (if you go under 1,000 your body will just start storing fat instead of burning it). Eat high fiber fruits & veggies, lean meat and give yourself a treat on occasion which will make CONT

It less likely to go balistic and eat an entire pint of ice cream (I know from experience - it's better to eat a small cookie or pudding to curb cravings). Don't work out too hard, an hour a day should be perfect. Also, try to find a way to destress (as hard as that is trying to lose weight and plan a wedding, it can be done). Stress stores fat, so go have a pillow fight with your FH when you feel stressed out. Good Luck!

P90x ! Do it and be committed I can almost promise that if you do that your 20lbs will slide right off and it will be in a HEALTHY way! I started and shed off 10 lbs in the first month and you feel amazing ! It's an hour a day and totally worth it! You can always look on craigslist instead of paying full price. GOODLUCK!

WHat I did was just try to do an overall eating style change. I kicked out junk and eat nothing processed. Cheat days really help me stick to it. I feel sooooo much better! I am not constantly tired, my face is clearing from pimples, and I no longer have digestive issues Smiley smile I hope you find something that works!

I lost 15 lbs in 17 days with the 17 days diet. The first 17 days is similar to Atkins I think (no carbs except 2 fruit/day and lots of veggies/lean white meat). I also have more weight on me than you do, so 17 lbs would probably be easier for me to lose. But cutting the carbs and salt/sugar out really did the trick.

You are honestly so beautiful; dont be so hard on yourself! I know how it feels however, as I place myself in that same boat always worrying about what I weigh! We are out toughest critic.

Inches are more important than weight (good for you Tami!) because they show how healthy and how much muscle you have. Muscle is denser than fat, so you can not lose any weight and be far healthier than if you did!

I don't think this is something you should stress too much about. Losing weight before your wedding isn't as big a deal as I think many people say. You are beautiful the way you are and your FH thinks so too, or he wouldn't be marrying you, right?!

Let it go and you'll be more likely to feel fantastic on your wedding. (I'm not saying don't work out or eat right, but do it for the sake of enjoyment and being healthy than for losing weight for your wedding).

Kelsey, you are gorgeous! I know the feeling of wanting to lose weight, and I fight with it everyday. My FH is so great in helping me with my confidence, as I'm sure yours is. I told my FH that if don't/can't lose the weight by our wedding, we will still get our formal pictures done, but I'm going to keep my dress and we'll do it (the pictures) again when I lose the weight. Or I'll just do the dress destruction pictures I've seen.

Tyler -- OMG, your comment made me tear up. Coming from a guy, what you said means so much, not only to who you meant it for, but for the rest of us. You definitely were raised right, and your parents should be proud. Not to mention your lucky Bride to Be.

You can do it - no soft drinks, no alcohol, limit sugar, fresh fruit and veggies, lean proteins. 2 lbs a week is 16 lbs

Do Insanity. I lost 35 pounds doing the 60 Day Challenge. Worth the money if you need to fit into your dress!

Jennifer, that's awesome advice! I definitely need to be more realistic with what I eat. I was eating super small amounts and then I would get so hungry that I'd be like screw it, I'm eating a sundae and a bag a chips lol. Luckily, I am working out more. I'm doing pilates with a trainer 2x a week for an hour and a half. I am seeing my body tone up but now I just need to get my eating habits right. Thanks for the support!! Smiley smile

Tasia, I have heard sooo many good things about P90X but honestly, I don't know if I have the time or money to commit to it right now Smiley sad

Christina, what do you mean by "cheat days"? Like days where you ignore your diet altogether? I want cheat days! lol

Michelle, I have a friend who lost a ton of weight with the 17 day diet--I'm going to google it!

Tami, I've never heard of those DVD's. Googling it!

Nicole, aww thank you Smiley smile It's so hard for me since I've gained 30 lbs in the last few years I just don't feel like myself anymore and I really want to get back to how I used to be!

Robin, that's good advice! I'm really going to try not to be so stressed with losing the weight and hopefully it will come off and if not, oh well, at least I'm married Smiley smile

Cindi, is that a diet pill?

Aw Lindsey, thank you!! What is the dress destruction pictures? I've never heard of that LOL If you don't mind me asking, how much weight do you want to lose? Best of luck!!! Smiley smile

D1, thanks for the support! I really hope I lose more than 16lbs though! lol

Yardie, I will look it up, thanks!! How long did it take you to lose the 35?

@I_Found_Mr_Wright I completley understand what you saying. Like the other ladies have said don't stress over it. Stress can make you gain weight as well as lose, just depends on your body. Continue to workout and just don't think about it. Also, what is helping me right is having a workout buddy. I can do a good two or three days by myself but once I get the right workout buddy I'm motivated because I know they are going to motivate me. If you ever need that extra push or inspiration by all means PM with your cell, and I'll send great words of encouragement. Your goal is not impossible because "You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you"!!! Be Blessed!! Be Strong and of Good Courage!!

I did the 60 Day Challenge with Insanity....so 60 Days

It also included a diet (losing weight is around 85% diet and 15% workout) but I stuck with what I was doing 5 to 6 small meals a day including lean protein and protein shakes in between meals. Portion control is huge. I don't deprive myself, I just eat smaller portions of it. I eat everything I love but I don't gorge anymore.

I'm back in the gym with my trainer now but I still do one of the Insanity workouts at least twice a week.

That thing is no joke. You will be cussing Shaun T out. lol However, the results are AMAZING! Good luck! Smiley smile
