Anyone getting married 6/5/21, or have a June 2021 wedding date? What have you accomplished so far? How are you feeling about the COVID situation?

Hi! So happy to have found this thread I think it will be helpful for the days where I’m freaking out a little! Our wedding is planned for 6/5/21, too! We booked our venue before covid hit. The ceremony and dinner are going to be outside on the lawn on the ocean, but dancing is HOPEFULLY going to be inside the castle (Hammond caste, Gloucester ma) we have booked our florist, dj, tent, caterer, lighting... still working on finding an officiant. We sent save the dates out awhile ago because I was worried about all of the weddings that were postponed to spring 2021. There are around 130 guests. I have invitations picked out... but for now I guess it’s a waiting game. I have accepted that it may have to be a smaller group, but I’m praying that our closest friends and family will be able to be there! And that we can dance and have a somewhat normal day 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻I’m a nurse in mass and have gotten my vaccine. I’m hoping the vaccination rollout will allow all of us to have the weddings we have always dreamed of 💗👰🏻‍♀️

    Hi Elisabeth.
My wedding is 6-5-21 also. So far i have been told we can only have 45ppl at our wedding. That would include the dj the hairstylist the photographer so there will a big cut in on our guest list.
I was also told that we probably can't have the photobooth that ive paid for. Im so worried. We have already had to cancel our August 15th 2020 wedding. I ask the Coordinator and she doesn't have any availability at all for 2021 except 1 day in July. A lot of good that does. Lol where are you having your wedding, Elisabeth? Mine is in a decorated barn.

    Hi!
Our wedding is castle on the ocean, where is yours? What state are you in? When I reached out to my coordinator she said she hoped to have less restrictions but right now they have no idea how many people we will be able to have, which makes ordering invitations hard! And the menu and seating chart and all that, ugh! I know I have time before invitations actually need to be sent out but still. Is there an outdoor space at the barn that you could utilize too? As for the photo booth- is it an actual photo booth? Because I went to a wedding that had a pretty backdrop and all the fun props with someone taking Polaroids - without actually going into a little booth. So there’s an idea for you to try maybe? I did ask my coordinator if people were postponing their spring weddings, she said no, but I’m sure even if we wanted to we would have a hard time finding a date.

I am June 4, 2021! We just made the decision in the last week to move our venue from indoors to all outside. Our original plan was an outdoor ceremony with an indoor ballroom reception but that made planning so difficult. I didn't know what to plan for. So we know now with an all outdoor wedding, we might have 30 people, 50 or 75... will depend on vaccine progress and restrictions but I feel 10x better about it and can move forward planning. Before, I was thinking we'd end up with 10 people inside, and we didn't want to have to PLAN a wedding for just 10 people to attend (at that point, we would have eloped or done backyard), so we moved it all outdoors so our guests can still wear masks but also properly distance, as well. Any vendors we had already booked are willing to come with us, and were all so nice and accommodating to do so. Nearly all of our vendors are booked or at least in conversations and about to book.

Hi Elizabeth! We’re getting married at Hammond Castle as well, the weekend after you on June 12, 2021. We are having an outdoor ceremony and tented reception on the ocean lawn also. We sent save the dates out in October to 100 guests, but we’re anticipating needing to make guest list reductions. All the uncertainty is driving me crazy! You’re the first bride I’ve come across getting married at the same venue. If you’d like to compare notes, feel free to send me a message.

Is anyone getting married in New Jersey in June? My date is 6/4/21 at the Wilshire and I keep getting so nervous. Outdoor ceremony indoor reception. Ballroom fits 300 and I’ll have about 150.

I am. My venue told me right now they can operate at 25% capacity which is 150 people so I should be good to go as long as nothing gets worse

Ahh! So happy to hear this, I would love to be able to help each other out in all this craziness! I’m starting to buy centerpiece decor but it’s hard because I have no idea how many tables we will be having. I was thinking about emailing the venue manager about their projected capacity. I really hope we will be able to go in the castle for dancing 🤞🏻

We are June 5th in Brigantine NJ. We actually got married back in December with just family on our deck with everyone on zoom but we are hoping to have a big reception on June 5th. We will decide In March if things are looking better and the restrictions are lifting. Our families want the dance floor and we really don’t want to have to cut the guest list because everyone has been looking forward to this big wedding. The only thing we could do is change venues but with an outside catering company it’s hard.

When you say you moved your venue from indoors to outside, is it still the same venue? I will be contacting my venue this week about what the plan would be for our reception. The only outdoors they have is the parking lot so I don’t think that would work😓

We switched venues completely. Our Plan A venue didn't have an outdoor space either. We ended up reaching out to our 2nd favorite venue which was all outdoors and they had our date available, so we took that as a sign!

Did they give you a refund (full or partial)? The contract for our venue includes the “act of god” clause so I’m worried we won’t get our money back. I would honestly be happy with a partial refund😓

We actually got a full refund, surprisingly. And our contract did not have an Act of God clause. It simply stated that it was a nontransferable, nonrefundable deposit. We told them how we were feeling back in October, and they said the one thing they can't do is give back the deposit, which I understood. Flash forward to January, we moved our venue to another one (all outdoors), fully accepting that we might lose the original deposit, but we asked kindly one last time. It doesn't hurt to ask. I used the line: "We anticipate that the original contract is likely not to reflect what the day would look like." And that did it. It was an amicable separation. I wouldn't ask for a partial refund up front nor would I tell them that you changed venues. We kept it vague, polite, understanding, and let them know that we were just backing out. If you have the Act of God clause, that should hopefully cover you - plus, if you paid with a credit card, talk to your credit card company as a last, last resort. As much as that isn't fun to do (trust me, this was hard, we are not in the business of hurting businesses... this time is really hard), you can always try that method as a last resort.

Oh yes same here! I bought my dress about 6 months ago and it was tight then. I tired it on last week and can’t even get it zipped up 😰 so I started a strict diet this week and hopefully have enough time to lose the weight to get back into it. I’m waiting to start alterations until I can get into it 😭

I kept saying that I was going to lose all this weight and it hasn't happened so I went to David's Bridal, where I got my dress, to look for my dress to see if it was on clearance. It wasn't. However they have agreed to exchange my dress for one that fits. They measured me right then and I went in the next day and made the exchange. So im still going to wear my favorite dress just a size larger. I got lucky!

Our wedding is June 5th. We met at work and plan to have our ceremony and a champagne reception in a garden courtyard on the campus of our work to allow for fellow colleagues and clients to attend. And then we have a more private party in our backyard for 60-65 of our guests (close family and friends). We hired and old fashion pizza truck for the dinner and a prosecco truck for our happy hour. With covid we decided rain or shine we will be outdoors!!!

Is anyone NOT having their honeymoon soon after?? What’s everyone’s honeymoon plans!??
I’m so torn... I want to get away for my honeymoon, most likely within the US but that’s because I don’t really want to travel out of country and have to do covid test and what not to come back. My real dream honeymoon would be a nice getaway to the Caribbean or something. So idk if we should hold off and do it later or pick a another destination😩 plus on top of that I’m anxious of having to leave my son for couple days having someone else watch him. He’s 2 and We have never had him stay overnight with anyone. (Not that I don’t trust my mom. Lol just first time mom nerves I guess, knowing I won’t be a couple minutes drive away)
