70 Days Left!!!

Kaysey, on December 20, 2019 at 10:55 AM Posted in Planning 0 4

We're sitting at 70 days until our wedding!!! I'm more excited than nervous or stressed. I think we have everything in order and ready to go. We just have a couple of loose ends to tie up in January and the beginning of February and then we'll be fully ready. Our venue is paid for in full, both sides attire are ready, RSVP's are starting to come back (due date is 1.15.20 but we're giving our guests until 1.20.20 b/c we know some will not mail their's back until the due date), our officiant is ready to go, we have our idea for favors and just need to make them (we're doing a dessert bar and will make the items 2 days before the wedding), and everything else seems ready. The only things we have left to do are finalizing things with our caterer and sitting down with our DJ to go over songs for the ceremony and entrance songs for the reception, our first dance song, son (groom)/mother dance and my dance with my grandpa. I feel like I should be more stressed than I am. I do think the stress will come later (probably a week before the wedding). We have everything set it seems and I hope I'm not missing anything!!

What are some things you are worried about forgetting to do, or if you've already gotten married, what are some things you wish you would've done?

Sounds like everything is going smoothly for you! I feel like the stress will come as it gets closer to the day. I have a lot of people telling me that I seems extremely calm for planning a wedding. We have an RSVP deadline of 1.25, so far everyone has replied yes, which is super exciting. I just ordered some new shoes lol. I finally found the perfect ring bearer pillow to go with our theme and hopefully it will come in by the end of January. I still have one BM who hates the dress that she ordered, but hasn't gone to exchange it yet. But I'm not going to let her stress me out if she doesn't take care of it. I still need our cake server set, toasting flutes, gifts for FH and parents., favors, my garter and still deciding whether to make programs or not.

You are on top of your game! I am about a week out from my wedding and I'm getting a little nervous. I still have a whole list of things to do! Most are small details, which makes me feel a little better. The biggest worry on my mind is the flowers. I'm doing them myself and it's killing me to wait for them! They'll be here Christmas Eve and then I have to let them bloom before I can get started! I also still have to make my seating chart. I know where everyone is seated, I just have to create something to show it! Luckily I work with the school district so winter break starts today after work! Huge relief.

Sounds like you are doing pretty well. I am already married and there are a couple of things I regret. I wish I fired my florist and hired someone else because she messed up a bunch of stuff. I missplaced my jewelry and my bridesmaids looked for it for 30+ so I didn't get as many getting ready or bridesmaids photos as I would have liked. I wish I had let the girls decide on their style of dress or would have picked a different dress. The main thing I would say is be organized so you don't missplace anything like I did.

Enjoy it! You sound on top of it. For me the stress was more around the 30 day mark and then slowed down 1-2 weeks before. Be prepared to chase after RSVPs. Most came in for us but we still had to follow up on some. My guests had all kinds of reasons for not sending it in. One got stuck in a Sunday circular and found when they went to throw it out, one was moving so mail got put away for realtor showings, and even a “I took it to another state to respond while I was there and left it there”. Enjoy the no stress!
