75 DAYS TO GO!!! CALLING 10/7 BRIDES

Megan, on July 24, 2017 at 8:49 AM Posted in Planning 0 100

So, I think I am kind of at a pausing point. Most of what is left are paying final payments. I had my hair trial last Thursday and it went really well. It took I think about an hour before I finally said okay this look is IT. My stylist was a champ the whole time. I did not mean to be difficult but there was something off and I kept having her change this and that until it was exactly how I wanted it. That is so out of character for me. I am usually the type that says ok it's fine even when it is not. haha! My makeup trial was scheduled for the same day but mua child was sick and she asked if we could reschedule in a couple of weeks. Next month the guys go to purchase their clothes and I am buying my husband's ring. I am just SO READY for the day to get here. I can not wait to be married. I have started making spreadsheets for everything, lol. I made one for the photographer, director/DOC, planner, myself! I feel so organized. Who knew I could be this organized??

I'm gonna tag along with 10/7s since mine is an odd date. It's getting real and I'm in stress mode. Had a lot going on last month but ready to jump back in. Finalized processional and opening poem. Still need to think about aisle way decorations and need to have final list for wedding in less than a month. Going to Charleston (3.5hr drive) for trial and to try out the nail salon for wedding. Want to lose a little more weight too down 10lbs so far

I just mailed out invitations this weekend. I cannot believe it is almost here!! We meet with our DJ this week to discuss everything and give him pictures he will display during our first dance and father/daughter, mother/son dances. And I just got a call from the tailor to come see the first round of alterations!

@KDoubleU we meet with our DJ as well. He did not mention bringing the pictures for the slide show. So glad you mentioned that. I need to email him asap. I have got to grab a flash drive to put them all on. Well, guess my pausing point is not really pausing!! haha! We are doing pictures during father/daughter dance, my dance with my brother and also our first dance. FH does not want any during his mother/son dance.

    Hey, date twins!!

I don't feel as stressed as I think I could be. My little sister (MOH) is moving to VA this week so I've put the wedding on hold to help her, but yesterday she went with my mom and me to do my dress fitting. It's kind of early, but I really wanted her there and she won't be back in OK until the wedding, unfortunately. After the fittings though, I did finally find my wedding shoes. So it was a very productive day. We also met with our pastor to begin the premarital counseling and made a lot of progress on completing the renovations to our home (where we getting married). It was a SUPER productive weekend and I'm glad. Less. Stress.

    Hey there!

I feel like I have so much done yet there's still so much to do. I still have to make some final payments on some vendors. I did meet with my DJ yesterday and get the ceremony and reception Timeline squared away. I have my invitations but I haven't started addressing them yet, so that is on my to do list for this week!

    Hi!!

I'm mailing invitations today on my lunch break. I have been so excited for this, and only partly because I'm reclaiming precious dining room table real estate! Smiley winking I have my second (and hopefully final) dress fitting on 8/2.

My main stress right now is my bridal shower on 8/14. I'm VERY excited about it, but I have an international business trip the week before - such poor planning! I did build in a buffer day into my return travel so if anything with my flights goes wrong, I have extra time to make it home.

My makeup trial is the next day, 8/15.

Has anyone started planning rehearsal dinners yet? I made some preliminary plans months ago....but now I realize what I originally envisioned will not work for reasons. So now I'm starting from scratch there. Smiley sad

I did that to myself, too, @Amanda. Although, it wasn't international. FH and I went on a week long trip and I only gave myself a day between the trip and the shower. I was exhausted, but not just from travel. BM's and I went out the night before. It was hard keeping myself engaged in all the conversations. Especially when I knew my mom was waiting for a reaction to my gifts and I probably didn't meet expectations, honestly. So I hope your travels go smoothly and you really are able to rest the day before!

Hey ladies 10/7 seems popular!!! I'm having a destination wedding all u ladies seem so ready I'm here in NYC on island time, whaaaaa . I'm not sure what I'm doing with hair and makeup yet. I have curly hair and toying with the idea of leaving it natural. I don't wear much makeup and felt funny when I did a trail in the islands, i felt like a clown. Reached out this morning to schedule another one here at home and take what they use on me if i love it. It's all so exciting and I'm so glad I'm not going crazy yet. Best of luck to all u ladies !

My grandparents and FH grandfather are doing our rehearsal dinner so I have not really had any stress with that. My grandmother asked what I would like food wise and how laid back I wanted it. But she is handling the details.

We mail our invites out August 1st. I am excited and nervous as the RSVP's will start rolling in.

My only annoyance right now is scheduling our pre marital counseling. No one's fault. Just busy work schedules are making it hard to set appointments.

FH's parents are hosting our RD at the venue. I'm trying to establish a nice timeline for the weekend and please everyone and it is exhausting. I'm excited to start getting RSVPs back. My shower and bachelorette are coming up which I am so excited about. My bachelorette is a surprise so I cant wait to see what we are doing!

Reading through some other threads and see where vendors have backed out at the last moment. Do any of you have that fear? I didn't but now I am. Do you have contracts with all your vendors? I do with the major ones (DJ, Videographer, caterer, photographer, venue, flowers/decorator). We did not do one with my hair stylist or makeup artist. Should I insist on one? My mom's pastor is marrying us so it never occurred to me to get a contract with her. Should I ask for one anyway?

@Megan I say yes. Contracts are binding and protect you from any surprise cancellations or losing money. Contracts for everything.

@Megan, I am worried about our photobooth. He's seemed kind of flakey since the beginning and has invoiced us incorrectly twice (both for larger amounts) but has then fixed it. While I would love to have the photobooth, it won't make or break the reception for me.

@Nas, I'm sort of worried about addressing the invitations. I had lost my hard drive that had the address spreadsheet on it and finally found it... In the back of my car. Oklahoma has been 100+ degrees for weeks and I'm worried that it's fried.

I have an official contract with everyone, including MUA. Better have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

I am excited to take a break from wedding planning and go on my bachelorette party in AC this weekend! I start school up again next week so I'll have to be very time efficient with any DIYs I want to take on. Right now I have no decorations for the church and am thinking of using purple tulle that was donated to me.

I did decorate a small box for our "Honeymoon Splurge Fund" (just for us at home to put cash/change in) since we won't be going to Hawaii until January. What is everyone doing for their honeymoon?!

Are you guys hand addressing your invites or printing everyone's addresses on individual labels? I like the idea of labels cause I don't want the addresses messy. But I am not sure still what I will be doing. We address everything this week.

So exciting!!!! My FH picked out their suits yesterday! All our invites went in the mail this week and we already have 25 RSVP back yes and 1 decline. We only invited 91 people so that is already 1/4 have RSVPed back which is awesome!

Still working on vows and song choices!

I paid for the addresses to be printed right on the envelope. Best $25 I could have spent. I did notttt want to hand write. I've been buying little things here and there. I just bought little vow books for us to read from during the ceremony. Not necessary but I like them.

I still need to assemble my invitations and get them out. Still don't have table decor finished. Half way done building the welcome bar. Need to lose 5 lbs. Had my shower this past saturday. I am so behind. I need encouragement. Or a puppy to play with.
