So, I think I am kind of at a pausing point. Most of what is left are paying final payments. I had my hair trial last Thursday and it went really well. It took I think about an hour before I finally said okay this look is IT. My stylist was a champ the whole time. I did not mean to be difficult but there was something off and I kept having her change this and that until it was exactly how I wanted it. That is so out of character for me. I am usually the type that says ok it's fine even when it is not. haha! My makeup trial was scheduled for the same day but mua child was sick and she asked if we could reschedule in a couple of weeks. Next month the guys go to purchase their clothes and I am buying my husband's ring. I am just SO READY for the day to get here. I can not wait to be married. I have started making spreadsheets for everything, lol. I made one for the photographer, director/DOC, planner, myself! I feel so organized. Who knew I could be this organized??

Just here to say that I think you all chose an amazing date and wishing everyone a fabulous wedding. Carry on the tradition of October 7th being the one of the absolute best (if not the best) day for a wedding!

@Future Fuji, I don't think you're behind, I sent my invites out on the week of August 9th for my October 7th wedding last year. Don't forget to add the stamp the the RSVP envelopes, you'd be surprised how many people do.

I'm getting envious of all you October 7th brides & grooms, it truly was an amazing day for me. I'll be looking forward to your BAM's

@Rebecca, my Belk registry has been a pain in the ass because everything keeps getting discontinued. If people hadn't already purchased off of it, I would have deleted it all together.

    @Kate,

I'd suggest taking that Wednesday before off too in addition to Thursday & Friday before your wedding. Some people here only took off Thursday & Friday and regretted not taking more--there will be some last minute things to do and you'll welcome the down time too. I took the whole week off before my wedding which was on a Friday last year. Just my advice.

@Betsy I am wondering why I even bothered in the first place! My mom didn't buy anything off my registry (bought similar stuff, but not what we registered for) and the rest - checks and gift cards. If I didn't spend all that time at BB&B I would delete it. I am about to delete my Amazon one because people keep going to my personal wish list, not my registry!

I am still trying to figure out what days to take off. Anyone from my family is coming from out of town and for some this is their first trip to LA. So I wanted to take a couple days off after. The question is do I do Thursday-Tues? Or just say forget it and take a whole week.

My job only approved of Fri - Mon. So we are taking a couple days to stay in a cabin in the mountains and will save for the big honeymoon we want next year. I am having trouble getting off work for my bach party. My supervisor is just not understanding about days off. I mean it is only my wedding or wedding related I even ask for.

Sorry your supervisor sucks, @Meagan W. Will you be having a minimoon at the cabin? That sounds amazing. I had a mini moon right after my wedding--we had to push back our honeymoon till this year--but the minimoon was perfect. You'll have a fabulous time!

@Rebecca, I recommended taking off as much time as possible, if you can take the whole week do it! You won't regret it. At least aim for 4 days if you need to save some vacation days for the honeymoon.

@Kari yes we are taking the couple days for a minimoon. We have not exactly figured out some things to do yet. We have a ton of brochures for ideas. Even though job wise we could not take the time for our honeymoon, I at least wanted something for FH and I do just us during our first couple days of being husband and wife.

@Rebecca, I felt that way at my shower. One of my mom's friends invited someone NO ONE KNOWS who got me a thing that I wouldn't have ever bought. It's awfully cute, and it does "work" in our home, I just didn't understand why she invited someone that no one else knows when she had a lot of friends there anyway.

I've taken the wed-fri prior off, and the mon-wed after off of work but I'm still in college so I'll attend my classes that first Wednesday and the following Mon-Wed. But I took off work so that in between classes after the fact, I wouldn't feel like I wasn't getting a "break" with FH.

@Betsy I get it! The only person relative who got anything off our registry was an Aunt I had never met till my shower on Saturday. Yay fully programmable crockpot!

And then my mom gets me a mini crockpot for my birthday (which she gives me at my shower)....Um, I can't put that on my desk! We aren't allowed to eat at our desks! (she said well you registered for a crockpot....Um yeah mom, not this one! I love her but oh well hahahahah)

I just started working here in April, so I want to save some time for our honeymoon. We are going at the xmas holidays to Germany so that we don't have to take as much time. I am so torn!

I'm 10/8 and am getting excited. I'm also at a pausing point in the planning. Although I just bought a new dress last minute, so I'm anxiously waiting for that to arrive (next week it should come in). Yay for your organization! We need lastly to get his clothes and my son's clothes and some last minute decor and final payments to photographer and officiant. And vows. Can't forget to write those.

I only took the Thursday and Friday off but I am off the whole week after for the honeymoon. Maybe I will try to take a half day Wednesday too.

We aren't doing a honeymoon because of my job/college. I work every home football game since I work in athletics, and I can't afford to miss that many classes. Plus, we decided we would rather take a vacation this summer. We treated our vacation as our "substitute mini-moon". Another reason for not taking a honeymoon is because FSIL has suggested a family vacation (FSIL & her husband, FH's parents, FBIL, FH & I) to Ireland next summer and I would much rather save for that. We went on a family vacation last year before we knew FMIL had a brain tumor. She got super sick while we were on vacation and didn't enjoy it. I would like to do another vacation with her now that she can enjoy it. She really is one of my most favorite people ever.
