My best friend (I was MOH at her wedding, she is MOH at my wedding) got married in June. Her, her mother & I did the centerpieces ourselves they were candles in a fish bowl or glass container. Well we loaded the centerpieces into the car the night before the wedding not thinking about the heat. It got so hot the night & day of the wedding that the candles wind up melting. Thankfully the place let them light the candles & no one could tell.

Same wedding, she hired an officiant - he was license for PA, but I think did mostly South Jersey weddings, and wasn't used to the way that PA marriage license looked. Right before the wedding he told my friend that she didn't have the correct marriage license - that the clerk gave her the wrong one. My friend got so upset, her husband wind up coming in - they didn't do a first look. It was a mess. When I was reading the license, I was like "um, you are wrong - this is right"... he had to re-check everything. Fortunately my friend is a good sport, and this story has become a fun oops of the wedding.

Awe thats adorable. Completely unwedding related but when I was 3 I was riding my big wheel around my pool (in ground pool). My dog ran infront of me and I swerved and went face first into the pool. All the parents came running and my dad stopped everyone because I started swimming to the ladder. When I got out I was crying and I look dead in my eyes and say "DADDY!! Get my big wheel" because it was at the bottom of the pool now haha

Omg, I would have been so mad at the officiant, like SO MAD! ruining the moment my FH gets to see me! And omg the candles! That sucks I had something similar happen recently. I bought my shoes for my dress and put them in my car 2 days before my first alterations appt because I was leaving straight from work and knew I would forget them.... well the glue started melting on the shoes and they started pulling completely apart by the time I got to my alterations appt. It would have been an easy fix but I ended up not going with them anyways so it worked out haha

🤣...I actually don’t even think I knew until the day after . I knew we were starting late but presumed it was entirely shuttle related. It was a bit, but it turns out also part of the shuttle delay was...it waiting to leave til the pants were safely on board

When I was, like, 3 I was the flower girl for my aunt's wedding. Ya girl was a whiny punk who cried at everything. It was my turn to go out and I screwed up my face and started screaming and chucked the basket. My dad awkwardly scooped my planked self up and tossed the remaining petals and carried me down the aisle

He literally stared at the crowd the whole time with like a death stare lol. And cried beforehand because he didnt want to wear the cap and gown lol

I also didn't say yes right away. I guess I said I love you and kissed him. He asked me again and of course I said yes. He likes to say that he asked but I just left him hanging without an answer.

At my previous wedding, my bridal party and I went to get our hair done that morning at a salon. Well, when it was time to go, I couldn't find my keys anywhere. And everyone rode with me in my van , except my sister. So I'm freaking out, late to get to the church for pictures, can't find keys anywhere. After 30 or so minutes, my sister calls me-she had the keys the whole time in her purse-which she swears she checked countless times. Then, when we went to leave the church to go to the place where the actual ceremony would be held (long story), my bridesmaid makes it half way there before she realized SHE had my keys. I can laugh about it now but I was kinda stressed about losing my keys twice in one day lol

We have a family friend that she’s like family and at every wedding she attends she does a splits. Well at my destination wedding she did it multiple occasions on the previous events. On the day of the wedding everyone wanted a split again and of course she delivered. She’s over 60 years old and gets up all on her own afterwards. My photographer couldn’t believe it. She’s amazing and so funny!
Then at the time to caught the bouquet! She was front center jumping like a bunny and the video is just so funny. She fought hard for it with one of my bridesmaids. The video is just so funny.

By the way I had a destination wedding as well and I had to travel with 5 luggage so I know the struggle. It made it easy for me to have lists to know what I had and what I was missing to pack. It can be very overwhelming but keeping things organize is a must!
    You’re almost there! Good luck.

I'm pagan and some members of our family are a bit confused and unsure what to expect. This has led to a few jokes between FW and I. Our friend is performing the handfasting and came over the other night to go over details. We wrote the ceremony but asked him to say a few words to start. His two big ideas are to start the ceremony as a "roast" to my dad (NO! JUST NO!) or to apologize that the goat is late but we will get to the sacrifice portion soon. Not sure if he's going to make us all laugh or cringe. LOL

    Morning of wedding day:
-A groomsman’s bow tie ripped, and my husband cut himself shaving and my mom (who was going back and forth between my hotel room and my husband’s) just comes into my room and goes “don’t freak out, but a groomsman needs a safety pin and your almost-husband needs to borrow your concealer” 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️😂
-My freaking dress didn’t fit. I must’ve lost weight the week before my wedding. My mom zipped me up and it was all emotional, and then the dress just FELL. Coordinator comes into the room YELLING at us that we’re late. My bridesmaid screams back “THE BRIDE’S DRESS DOESNT FIT, ITS GOING TO HAVE TO WAIT”
-My husband got me a *wedding day gift*—something I’m not going to post on the internet, but use your imagination and believe me it was not something he should’ve brought to our venue 🤦🏻‍♀️ He accidentally left it wrapped in his talit and didn’t notice until he was about to walk down the aisle. He turns to his best man and goes “I need a favor, no questions asked. Stick your hand out, shake my hand, and put this in your pocket.” The best part: he was hooked up to the videographer’s microphone, so this was all RECORDED.

    Ceremony:
-I walk down the aisle, get to the front of the room, and my brother (our officiant) just goes right into “dearly beloved” without telling people to sit down. I whisper “please be seated” to him to remind him, and he’s like “OH YEAH, please be seated!” and the whole room just starts cracking up 😂
-My husband smashes the glass as part of our ceremony... the glass went though the cloth and punctured the sole of his shoe (luckily just the shoe, didn’t go through to his foot!) but so when he lifts his foot up, the entire thing is just STUCK to his foot. The room fills with a very confused “mazel.... tov......?” followed by hysterical laughter :p

I’m sure there’s more but...... also just want you to note, everything I said was funny, and honestly my best memories of the day, are all things that went wrong! You just have to have a good attitude about it and remember that the things that go wrong are often the funniest stories and the best memories Smiley smile
