Okay, I still have over a year left. But I hear you need to figure out a venue first and foremost. So I was looking at Castleton Farms in Loudon, TN. Its freaking GORGEOUS!! I would do anything to have my wedding there. But... They want $9,500 for the day. and it includes: Use of property –...

Okay, I still have over a year left. But I hear you need to figure out a venue first and foremost. So I was looking at Castleton Farms in Loudon, TN. Its freaking GORGEOUS!! I would do anything to have my wedding there. But... They want $9,500 for the day. and it includes:

Use of property – utilizing the chosen venues from 8:00am to midnight for evening events.

200 white garden chairs

20 round tables

Full service bridal planning - 10 – 20 hours planning and day of execution for event.

Access to the Castleton Farms Bridal Suite for photography use

Dressing rooms for both bridesmaids and groomsmen

Free website and online software for ease of planning your event.

The planning is what sold me. and the reviews are great. I just think its too much to spend on a venue when im planning a low budget wedding.

Let me know what you think!!

I am having a low budget wedding in 15 days. I literally spent 1200 on my entire wedding, including the cruise for my honeymoon. Needless to say, I am a saver, not a spender, but my wedding still looks classy and elegant. Try looking into cheaper venues and maybe doing some of the extra things they are offering yourself. Things like planning and creating your wedding website. Any venue will offer a place for you to get ready and chairs and tables so do not let that sway you. The only way I could see this as an added value is if they also provided table linens and serverware.

With a low budget wedding you have to think simple and elegant. What are the price tags on the other venues?

    2 things jump out here.

    1. you have a low budget

    2. you have 200 people

Therefore, spending $9500 on a venue is not a wise decision to me. Your venue should be about 10-20% of the total cost of your wedding. So you if have a $50-95K budget, knock your lights out!

We spent $4K on our venue, and $10K on catering, which included linens for 100 people. The food and alcohol really adds up. You need to get estimates of that for 200 people before you spend this much on a venue.

I think that's way too much for not including any food..but then again you may live in an expensive area..but to put it in perspective, I used a hotel ballroom..where since I had over 75 people I didn't even need to pay the rental fee of $150..just food and drinks.

I ran across that venue when trying to find one for my wedding (I'm from Knoxville), and it is gorgeous. But with a $10,000 budget, it just wasn't happening. There are other great venues out there! If it's honestly above your budget (and if you're trying to keep "low budget," it sounds like it is), then you need to move past this place. What area are you looking into? I might be able to help out.

Sorry, I didn't see anything about food. 9K just for the use of the site and chairs? Heck yah that is way too much! For $9K that should include complete upgraded linens, a full 3 course meal with appetizers, regular drinks, a full bar plus the cake for atleast 100 people, then its a good deal.

Yea my dream venue was like a low price of 5500 and being that thats my ENTIRE wedding budget... I had to let it sink. So now i'm trying to find cheaper comparable options... And I figured that I really can't spend more then 1500 for the venue... more like 1k tho so i have very few options and i think i have to let some stuff slide.

It totally depends on where you're located and exactly what your budget is. Our whole wedding (not including our rings) cost us $8,250, so for us, a $9,000 venue would have definitely been too much Smiley smile

Our budget is about 20-25k for 100 guests and our venue rental is only 1k! And its a gorg place- www.turnerhill.com. I say keep looking hun, 9k is really expensive if youre on a budget wedding. There is a beautiful place waiting for you that will fit into your budget I bet!
