9/11 married caption

Mrs. Ariza, on September 10, 2020 at 10:44 PM Posted in Married Life 0 9
Tomorrow we will celebrate our 1 year anniversary being married. Yep on 9/11. We didnt actually pick the date bc we wanted to . It was the only date available for elopement for personal reasons.

Anyways, what would be a great quote or possibly caption ? I was thinking “giving this date a special meaning “ i dont want to be insensitive to the tragedy of 9/11. Im from NY so I know how meaningful this date is but at the same time I wasnt able to have my wedding so we eloped on that same date.

Any ideas? Please and thank you

I think it's okay to just have a wedding caption that doesn't address 9/11 at all. If I saw your post, it would really lift my spirits. It's a good reminder that life goes on and there's lots of good in the world

I think I would rather do a caption that’s more focused on furthering love. Like “all you need is love” it’s generic but I feel like on that particular day, more love and kindness is always a plus.

I agree. I had the initial thought of “love conquers all.”

I would just do a caption that doesn’t acknowledge that it’s 9/11. I feel like no matter what you say or how sensitive you try to be, trying to tie your wedding into the tragedy definitely has the potential to offend someone. Like as if you’re implying that people died but it’s less bad because you guys got married. I know that’s not what you mean, but someone could easily be rubbed the wrong way by it especially if you happen to know anyone who lost someone in 9-11. Just post a nice photo with a caption relating to your wedding and your love for each other, as you would if it were any other day.

As someone who can see the new tower and the empty space in the skyline from my neighborhood... please just focus it on your wedding.

I can barely be on social media on this day, but if your post were about your wedding, and not at all about the attacks... I'd enjoy that.
