99 days! October 3rd brides, are you happy, excited, nervous, all of the above???

Mrs.a, on June 25, 2020 at 8:35 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 24

After having just mailed our invitations, solidifying plans with our Airbnb for the ceremony, And scheduling our tasting with our reception venue/caterer this week, it’s finally sinking in. I’ll get to marry my best friend in 99 short days! I know it’s going to fly by and it’s worth all of the stress of planning and the uncertainties of Covid.

10/24 here! I am excited and I am worried... we are allowed to have our reception with cdc guidelines in mind but I am still concerned about covid. Thinking about lowering my guest count below the venues capacity during covid. They can host 250 but due to social distancing and tables it would be 130. I’m thinking if 100...Also thinking of providing face masks. I will do my best to seat social circles that interact often together.

There will be sanitizer throughout the venue, staff wearing masks and serving all food and beverage, enforcing social distancing when not seated or dancing, tables six feet apart.

10/10 Here and not worried at all. We just got our invitations yesterday and will be sending them out in the next couple of weeks (Destination Wedding). Can't stress about things you can't control because it only makes things worse overall. Focus on what you can control. To prepare ourselves if things change - we decided to make Wedding Guest Totes which include not only beach essentials, but will also include hand sanitizers, custom cloth masks, etc.

We always planned a smaller wedding and it's mostly family and friends that are always already together most of the time. So SD shouldn't be an issue.

We are equally as nervous although our guest list was trimmed down from 30 to 24 due to occupancy limitations (at 50%). Even with that limit on our guest count, we will not be able to properly social distance with everyone in that space although we can try our best. I’m hopeful by that time that things will improve, but yeah, hand sanitizer and encouraging people to wear masks and hopefully stick with their family units would be really all that we could ask and do.

Good for you! We have been focusing on what to do in regards to things ever-changing! And getting used to the unexpected. We have a plan B to at least get married if we can’t go through with having our plan A (Intimate wedding/reception). But as of now we are on task with planning our Plan A. After our Venue advised that we had to cut our tiny guest list even further due to occupancy limitations, I am finally feeling a sense of relief since we have devised a plan and a list of those who we can invite.

The only thing I am concerned with is SD. It’s going to be next to impossible at our reception venue. Just going to have to encourage everyone to wear masks as much as possible.

Yes! Freaking out. So much is done but still so much to do! If you don’t mind me asking what did you use as you rsvp date? Ours is august 31st so we haven’t sent the invites yet.

We used the same date although I would like to know ASAP lol. But I want to be considerate in giving PP time to decide and make reservations if needed for hotel accommodations etc, and figure all of that out.

I did include an additional insert with a Covid note letting invitees know that we are having a small wedding (with the approximate number of guests), that we are taking precautions, and that everyone’s safety comes first. Also to note why we are restricting invites to those specifically addressed and that we are keeping it adults only due to occupancy limitations.

IDK about you, but our postal service here has been seriouslyly delayed. Deliveries are taking a week or more to be delivered than the scheduled delivery dates. IDK about letters but I know some of our STD’s took weeks for people locally/regionally to receive that shouldn’t have back before Covid so I wanted to make sure they got the invites in a timely manner.

All you can do is follow the CDC guidelines - Trust and believe. I live in NC our wedding is FL and control what you can and accept what you can't control.

I haven’t noticed our postal service being slower. I was thinking of sending the invites early to mid July. All we need to do is go get stamps 😂 we didn’t do save the dates; maybe I need to get these out now 😅
I Plan on doing a covid insert that says something like “ we are keeping an eye on North Carolina’s covid regulation and will keep everything updated via our wedding website at _______.” Then on the website I’ll say that we will have hand sanitizers on each table, mask are more then welcome (rn mandatory in NC) and that we will have a zoom option of our ceremony for people who still want to be apart of it but aren’t comfortable coming out.

I feel ya! Definitely on board now since so many changes have occurred and are occurring on a daily basis here. I’m glad we have a plan B and that all of our vendors are on board with that plan so we can proceed and still get married if we choose.

Good Call! Yeah I was thinking the beginning of July initially but then we don’t get out very often and were making a run to the post office. I think it was the stress of it all that I just wanted to get them out lol like it’s done and gone! I felt a huge sense of relief afterwards.

We also stated that we would be keeping an eye on things and if we decide to make any changes to our plans we would do so by the end of August and do our best to notify everyone. Lucky for us we’re only having as many as 22 guests, so we can make a couple phone calls, send emails, texts, etc.

Our plan B is to still get married with our priest, and maybe our parents, and possibly do a zoom option too! Still hopeful though that Plan A works!

I’m hopeful that we won’t have to cancel but if we legally do due to covid then we will still be getting married. My pastor will just be coming to my parents farm instead of the venue. Thankfully right now out only rule is face mask and half capacity. Our guest list is 130 people but still under the venues half capacity rule. Though I only expect 50-75 people being comfortable with coming.

Fingers crossed 🤞 I’m glad we hashed out a plan B, and we’re still discussing things such as masks, etc. I feel like it’s going to constantly change.

My fiancé and I are going forward no matter what! 10/03/2020 is our day. We will most likely have to cut our guest list. We had the max of 250 but due to Covid max is 120 for the reception. Not sure how many we can have for the ceremony since the building is smaller than the room for the reception. We are meeting our venue coordinator this Tuesday to learn all the guidelines so we can tell our guest and to learn what happens if the venue closes. I am okay with our plan B and getting married on the same day and have about 10-15 people at my parents lake house. I just know after that date my fiancé does not want a year later celebration with our families and that would be the only thing that would break my heart. I have a big family and they mean so much to me. Although I am trying to keep positive. I keep reminding myself that I have waited for my fiancé for a long time and finally found him so that is what matters most.

Thanks! We’re meeting with our coordinator to taste and pick out our cake. Luckily our venue also has a bakery! We’ll be able to also get answers to some of our questions pertaining to the wedding day.

We’re also in the process of scheduling our tasting for the main course, appetizers, etc.

My fitting, hair & makeup trials are to be determined. Waiting to hear back from my salon.

We need to purchase some fabric for our altar & cake cutting set. I have a project in mind to make / build a paper moon prop although I’m not sure I’ll get to do that...we shall see.

All-in-all we have all of our main decor items, vendors are booked, rentals reserved...just save, save, save! Until the month of lol

Nice! You have got a good list going!! The cutting utensils did you want to add anything to them? Or are they good to go as is? Also for the moon prop, what are you envisioning? Are you wanting to DIY it? That's awesome the main things are mostly done. Great job!! Yeah, I understand the save, save, save part! LOL
