A, B, C-list?

Kristina, on January 31, 2018 at 10:02 AM Posted in Planning 0 10

Hi everyone!

So I just LOVE the guest list feature on this site, and I'm setting it up and all that. I've tested it to make sure it works and it does, SO EASY!

However, I'm really confused on what the different lists are? Can anyone help me with that?

Thanks!

The lists are a rude way of organizing your guests. B and certainly not C lists should NEVER exists.... c'mon WW get your crap together (Not directed at you OP, just at WW web designers).

Technically a "B" list is a group of people you would invite if anyone from your "A" list declines.... it's horribly rude so DON'T DO IT. WW just doesn't get it......

    OHHHH okay.

Yep, I don't have a need for that anyway. Thank you!

It's a way to make people feel like they're Beyonce and special enough to have a crap ton of people want to come to their wedding.

Yikes I totally did not even think of it that way! It makes so much sense though! HA! I organized ABC as A was in the wedding party or our parents, B was any family, C was friends and plus ones. It was helpful to do it that way because my FH parents really wanted a lot of their friends to go so we were able to show them that we didn’t even have a lot of friends going (venue only holds 140 and he has a HUGE family).

I have A, B, and C lists, but I'm only using them until we know how many guests we can afford and our venue can accommodate. I have no intention of having B-list invites, it's really just for sorting our 100+ family into manageable groups, (A list is parents and bridal party, B list is siblings, neices, nephews, anuts, uncles, and close friends, and C list is cousins and other friends.)

When I first started making my guest list I used A, B, C lists to organise people into groupings.
The A list was must-haves, B-list was people who we really wanted there, and C-list was people who it would be nice to have there if we had enough space. It was just a way to look at numbers and helped us make cuts by working out which group some friends fell into. Definitely wouldn't use them for actual B-listing

Not fond of the whole B-listers thing, but I used it like some PPs have for organizing. I just broke it down in to A list = wedding party and people I couldn't do without, B list = People I MUST invite, C list = people I'll invite if we have the room. Was pretty helpful for me to sift my list, and hopefully it'll be helpful for my FH to break down his list since his first draft he rattled off 175 people without stopping for air Smiley xd If I don't set parameters and some sort of listing breakdown, he'd just as easily cough up another 200 haha Our venue holds 100, so it'll just be a means to organize stuff for us. All the invites and StDs will be going out to all groups at the same time, though Smiley heart

This is what we did too, because it made it easy to make guest list cuts before invites or STDs went out, so in that respect, I found it super useful. However, I would never have considered using it for inviting anyone after invites went out or B-listing guests.

Using it for planning purposes is such a great idea...I might have to do that. And ONLY for that purpose.
