Holy crap picking out a dress is so hard!! Honestly there is a part of me that wants to show my body with more of a mermaid or fit and flare style but then I look at a-line and ballroom gowns and I think they are just so romantic and beautiful! Helllllp!! lol Neither of these were “the one”...

Neither of these were “the one” however, I’m still debating on which style I want to lean towards. Thoughts?!! What are you ladies doing and how’d you decide?!

Do you plan to dance a lot?

If so, try dancing in the dress. Squat down, twist, move around and sit down in a chair.

    That should help with deciding

I tried on mermaid dresses, but I didn’t like how restrictive they were. I want to be able to walk and move comfortably, which is why I went with a ball gown

They sell gowns with detachable skirts that would allow you to have both styles in 1 gown. They also sell just the skirt separate from the gown. Here's a skirt from David's as an example.

I went in to my consultation wanting an A line dress. I did not want a mermaid or fit and flare at all but I decided to try one on because who knows. I tried one on and I didn’t even have her zip it because I just knew it was not my style. I also did not want a dress without any type of poof, not sure what that style is called, but that’s what I went with! Just keep trying dresses on and eventually you’ll find the one and you’ll know right away!

I told my consultant what venue I was getting married at, and my dress and accessories fit the venue PERFECTLY. What I’m wearing is beautiful but it would honestly look odd in any other type of venue. It just matches my theme and my overall vibe perfectly. Also because it’s in late November so it’s more winter. I tried a few gorgeous dresses on that were too summery so I said no right away. Maybe considering that will help you decide?

I had the same issue. I bought an A-line then returned it a week later for a mermaid because I like how it hugs my body.
