a minimalist approach to floral and decors??

Elohah, on September 10, 2023 at 1:01 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 7
Hi guys! We finally got our venue and have paid the deposit! Currently looking at photographers and florist for our 03/2025 wedding.

Im thinking I’d rather buy or rent flowers than have a florist, im not a flower kind of girl and its not a priority for me but i would still like to decorate. Im going with the minimalist approach.
Deciding between sbb or etsy for bouquets, centerpieces and garlands, as well as wedding decoration.
For the people who decided to go with this approach, do you have any tips? And how did you managed to set up and break down since you didn’t have a florist/decorator?
TIA!

We went with Fiftyflowers.com and were very impressed with their diy arrangements/bouquets/centerpieces. They have wonderful customer service and were at least 1/2 cost of florist. Costco also has wedding floral options.

We started out thinking the same thing… but as I continued to research, I realized the amount of money we would save wasn’t worth the time and hassle it would cost us (ie, storing the flowers and hoping they didn’t wilt, spending hours putting together bouquets, boutonnieres, centerpieces, etc. having to set everything up and tear everything down; and in the case of renting flowers, having to package them back up and send them back, etc. etc.). We ended up just going with a florist who delivered and set up everything. Best decision we made!

First off, congratulations on booking a venue! I originally wanted to go with a florist but quickly realized I would much rather spend the money elsewhere. I bought most of my florals from Shein. They have some good deals. If you want your bouquet to be real flowers, you can purchase some from Trader Joe's or Sam's/Costco the day before your wedding. We hired a month coordinator, so she will be in charge of assembling the decor and all that jazz. I plan on having a detailed layout for her, so she knows where everything needs to go. If you don't want a month of coordinator, I highly recommend a day-of-coordinator.

I bought foam flowers from Ling's Moment. They were pretty cheap and look great! My DOC will set them up and pack them up for me.

I'm getting fresh greenery garlands from Costco and inserting sola wood flowers (no worries about wilting). The flowers just arrived and they are gorgeous. Leaving them their natural creamy color which means I don't even have to dye them.

We made our own centerpieces using sola wood flowers and then I got all our bouquets, boutonnières, and ceremony flowers off Etsy! We had a day of coordinator (my TOP piece of advice. Get one. It’s like a non negotiable in my book. I had not a single thought or worry about anything wedding day except enjoying the day) and she set up all of our flowers and decor and took it all down at the end of the day!

So i et what your saying i like flowers but i don't want to pay thousands of dollars on flowers that are going to die and i cant take all of them home , so my wedding is next year 10/2024 nd im going with a florist but i'm only getting floral pieces for my isle , and centerpieces for the tables but not all tables will have them some will just have candles in the water , and my bouquet will be from esty along with my fiancé and the theme of my wedding and how i have it set up my girls will only have a single rose so i'm going to hobby lobby for them . and i'm going to ask guess to take the centerpieces home if they want
