a staycation bachelorette weekend - lame? Or cool?

The Sealpups, on June 29, 2019 at 2:49 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 15
I was never a hard party person in my 20’s. I like to drink but I was never to type to get wasted. For my bachelorette, I wanted more of an experience/small getaway. Different than what we’re used to but within the area. We live in Seattle and went to the San Juan Islands- it’s gorgeous. It’s a small town, coastal feel and the activities we’ve been doing so far have been fun - small hike with views of the ocean/mountains, a boat ride with orca whales, lavender fields, etc... it sounds fun and I’m sure for dinner, we’ll come back to the Airbnb and start drinking and playing games. As happy as I am with this, part of me is thinking - “is this more of an older mom’s getaway?” Is this too boring? Should I have done a drunk/get wasted party instead?

Is that's what you want go for it! It sounds absolutely lovely. Your bachelorette is about how YOU want to celebrate with your girls.

Just because it's a bachelorette party doesn't mean you have to get wasted. You should do whatever you enjoy.

I do. Or know when going out on a weekend trip became a most for bachelorette parties. I just want to do something small. Either mani and pedi with whine or a duel piano bar. Just something chill.

I think that sounds fun. Bachelorettes don't have to be some stereotypical wild weekend in Vegas or where ever. Mine as just a day full of relaxing activities too. The point is to make memories with your friends

I think that sounds like much more fun than bar hopping and getting wasted, but my best friend reminds me that I am an old mom so what do I know 🤷‍♀️. Do something you enjoy.

That's what I plan on doing of my bachelorette party. We're starting off with my shower in the morning/afternoon and then going back to my house to relax and great ready for a night out. We live just outside of Baltimore so I'm treating my girls to an UberX so there was no worries about how we were getting into the city. I'm also taking care of our hotel room at the Inner Harbor. My MOH said she'll take of the rest- so we'll probably have a nice dinner and hit up some bars downtown.

That sounds like a great getaway! If you decide that you do want to go out and drink more than usual, nothing says you can’t. Just speak up and tell everyone you want to go out in town. Whichever you decide is the right choice! Have fun!

No, it's what you make of it! I think bachelor/ bachelorette parties like this are more in style, actually. No everyone needs to get drunk/ do something they regret for their party. As long as it's something you'd enjoy, I say go for it!

This sounds like so much fun! A bachelorette doesn’t mean you have to get drunk, it is really more of a chance to celebrate and spend time with your best friends! My bachelorette is going to be in NYC with plans for dinner, a broadway show etc. I have no intentions of getting drunk

Whatever you want to do! We went to Palm Springs, and while there was some drinking, we did a lot of relaxing and even went on a hike!

No,not if that's not what you're into. We all need to stop comparing ourselves to other brides, and our experiences/events to others' events.

Do what makes you happy!! Every person is different, so each one is going to have a different idea of what would be the most fun thing to do. And even though you didn't go far from home, you're doing a lot of really fun stuff!!
