A toast with beer

Kristin, on October 18, 2017 at 11:13 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 11

I didn't want to highjack the thread about toasting wines so I'm creating my own. We are planning an Oktoberfest themed wedding and our favor is going to be beer mugs. We were going to use them for toasting. Based on the other thread though I am now worried guests may be expecting champagne, should we also provide champagne and let them choose?

In my case, I'm getting married at a brewery that does not allow outside alcohol. We're toasting with beer, it goes with our whole theme. Even if they did allow outside alcohol, we would still be toasting with beer. If it goes with your theme, do it! Your guests will go along with whatever you choose, it's YOUR wedding!

Whatever they have in their glass is perfectly fine to toast with. Toast with whatever you want. Fun theme, by the way!

You definitely are under no obligation to provide champagne. People will toast with whatever they're drinking.

Let them toast with whatever they have. They shouldn't EXPECT anything.

I am obsessed with your theme! I think you're fine with your idea and you don't need to offer champagne

I wouldn't want to bring a sticky cup home, thus I wouldn't want to use it during the reception.

Yeah i'd just let people toast with whatever they have in their glasses. we had sparkling wine as part of our open bar because i love it, so it was an option for people who liked it, but not an obligation.

Hm hadn't really thought about the sticky cup. I wonder if the caterers could rinse them out for everyone
