My sister adopted ( sorry for my spelling cant think tonight ) a little girl over the summer last year and she is the reason I am getting married this year. She always wanted to be a flower girl, but now 10 and being a flower is too childish so she is a junior brides maide i want to get her a great gift and make her feel very important part of my day... any suggestions.

Also, if you want to make her a FG and she wants to be a FG then do it. It's your wedding! Forget traditional FG's.

I agree! If you want to make her a FG it can totally be done. My FH really wanted his nephews and niece to be in the wedding party, so we are having his niece as a junior BM (she is 12), but his youngest nephew is our ring bearer and he is 9 so it is going to be a little unconventional! He is too young for groomsman (plus the spots were full!) so he is being a really old ring bearer! We laugh about it and say how he will at least be slightly more reliable than a really cute 3 year old! It is really nice to include her in your big day!

We got our niece a necklace (with the rest of the BM's as well) and our nephew a pair of converse shoes to wear down the aisle.

My flower girl was 10, and she loved it. I took her to a special tea to ask her, then gave her a necklace to thank her on the wedding day (for wearing later) and made her a Shutterfly album of the wedding with all of the photos of her included.

I like the idea of a locket. You could put a tiny photo of the two of you in it. Whatever you end up doing, I'm sure she'll feel special...have fun!

I'm printing out this poem with my Jr. Bridesmaid name as the title and putting it in a nice frame with a hankie as a gift.

    You're such a sweet young lady, you're

    As lovely as can be,

So please accept my heartfelt thanks

    For standing up for me.

For as my junior bridesmaid you've

    A special part to play

    Because you'll help me celebrate

    My joyful wedding day.

When I am walking down the aisle

    A very happy bride,

It means so very much to me

To have you by my side.

This hankie is a bridal gift

    To use and store away,

A keepsake you can carry on

    Your happy wedding day.
